Returning Home

It's been one year and since the last time Taylor has seen her husband of three years. Five years ago they had a baby boy named Eli and two years ago they got exciting news that they were blessed with a second child who turned out to be a girl who they named Lily. However, what also came with that news was that Joe was getting deployed again and was obligated to go and fight for his country.

"Eli honey, come sit over here so that mummy can see you" Taylor said to her son as they sat in the airport waiting for the army plane to land.
"Are you nervous" Abigail, Taylor's best friends since high school asked her.
"No I actually feel fine and I'm excited for him to see Lily. Of course I've sent letters but he hasn't seen what she looks like yet and how she has the exact same smile as him and how Eli has grown into a handsome young man." She said smiling down at the baby in her arms before turning to her son at the end ruffling his hair that caused a groan to come from his lips.

"Look mummy there are people coming out that door in the same clothes that daddy sometimes wears." Eli said excitedly.
Taylor's head immediately shot up to watch all the soldiers come out to hug there family's. Some were crying, some were hugging and some were doing both when she seen them ocean blue eyes that she though were so gorgeous she made a song about.

"Daddy!" Eli screamed and ran towards him
"Hey buddy how are you" Joe said smiling picking him up and hugging him. Due to all the commotion Lily woke up and started crying.
"Here give her to me and go see your husband" Abigail said so she handed her over and stood up to hug her husband after a long year.
"I missed you so much" Taylor said finally letting tears fall from her eyes once she was in the comfort of her lovers arms.
"I missed you too" he said kissing her on the temple, then cheek and finally the lips.
"Would you like to meet your daughter" she smiled
"I would love to"
They walked over to Abigail and Joe gave her a hug with one arm because he was still carrying his luggage then took the four month old baby from her arms and showed the biggest smile they had ever seen on his face.
"Hey baby, I'm your daddy and I'm going to look after you until I'm all grey and wrinkly. I'm going to watch you get married to the right guy who deserves you which will be quite difficult because I already know that they are going to be high standards." He laughed and when his eyes squinted a few tears fell from his eyes.

After the reunion they all decided to go out for dinner then go home and have a quiet night in watching a film and eating popcorn.
Lily was asleep in bed and Taylor and Joe were snuggled up on the couch one beside another with Eli lying across both of there legs.
Half way through the lion king they heard light snores coming from the boy in front of them so Joe carried him up the stairs and tucked him in bed gently to make sure he doesn't wake up and trekked down the hall to finally go to bed and sleep next to his wife.
Once they were both ready for bed they both got in and turned on their sides facing each other Taylor with both her hands under her head like a pillow and Joe with his arms around her waist.
" I missed you so much while you were gone" Taylor said full of emotion
"I know but I also have something to tell you. I told the sergeant that I was done so I'm not getting deployed anymore so I can spend all of my time with you and our little family." He said happily
"Seriously" she exclaimed with tears in her eyes
"Yeah"
"I can't wait"
"I love you"
"I love you too" he said back kissing her in the lips.
