everyday I pass by that little yellow cross. bent over be cause of such harsh weather over the years. I never thought, I would have the courage to go down this road again. that mark on the side of the road. right where my best friend, was killed. God, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I have the visions of Mallory dying in my dreams. almost as if they are stuck on replay. she was only 23. she had such a great life, single child, rich parents, she got everything she wanted. Mallory was the kind of person that refused to text and drive, refused to disobey God, refused to stop fighting for what she believed in. but it all happened so quickly , no body saw what happened . except me. I watch my best friend die. the pain in her face was so exotic and scary. the guy.. that.. killed her.. definitely don't do it on accident. no body runs over the side walk with there car to smash into the drivers side of Mallory's red convertible .
he had such and evil expression. almost as if he was seeking revenge. 3 years has gone by. I'm now 26 and I still have night mares. why? because I was siting in the passenger seat. and as I saw the car hitting the drivers door. I saw something , like a tattoo.. and I remember something. now everybody thinks I'm crazy and I'm seeing things be cuz I was in a coma for 2 weeks and I dont clearly remember what happened. but I know for a fact. that man. had a tattoo. right on his neck . and it read "I do not fear what comes next"
please I hope you don't think I'm crazy too. I know I saw it. I know I did . I just want an answer . for Mallory . I don't think most people understands the pain of losing someone you've grown up with . someone that was always there for you, someone was seeking pain. and they got it. the horrific sight of her face in so much terror and confusion. she laid there for a few minutes . heavily she started breathing. while shaking her cold hands she looked down and saw her own foot caught in between the door and the seat , crushed. her eyes, blood shot. and her bloody hands reached over to grab her cell phone. 'Missed call from "mommy"' flashes across the screen, she looks over at me and says, "tell her I love her more than anything". as she leaned back with glass stuck in the back of her head, a tear streams down her red cheeks . and she takes her last breath. in just seconds, my best friend is gone.
I will always remember that day . as long as it's stuck on replay .
