Rider had his head against the cool read lounge of the federal psychiatrist. It was his second session, and he still didn't believe he had to be there. When something traumatizing or 'hard to take' happens in the force, the cop has to have a psychiatrist evaluate them until there cleared. He had been asked the same questions over and over again. He had described the night of the crime so many times that he as sick of hearing it.
His psychiatrist asked a few more questions. Rider didn't hear them though, he was in his own little world. He couldn't help but play back the scene of when he arrived home, not because he coul;dn't get it out of his head, but because he wanted to see if he missed anything. His psychiatrist sighed and stood up and collected her things.
"Rider, I understand you don't want to be here, but youre going to be here until I clear you. And I'm not going to clear you if you keep zoning out. It looks like you are having trauma flashbacks." She looked worried, she looked at Rider with her old yet warming eyes.
"I'm just imagining the scene again, I need to find Claudia and if I don't her loife is on the line. I could already be too late! She could be dead! But i wouldn't know because she isn't here with me, no, she's has been kidnapped!" Rider wasn't sad; he didn't feel like he was going to break down in tears. But he was just fed up with the fact that he couldn't find her. He stood up and walked out of the office.
...
Rider paced through his office. Caludia had been gone for three days now and they had no leads, no solid ones anyway. Rider still suspected his boss; but he had no solid evidence to prove it and a hunch wasn't going to cut it. He had had enough of his sessions, he needed to find more evidence against Adrian, and spending an hour every sesssion wasn't helping. He kept researching Adrian, but nothing came up. He was getting really frustrated and might’ve not had any time left anyway. No one knew; Claudia could be dead by now. That could’ve been her blood on the floor in the apartment; maybe her body is already hidden.
"Rider!" Rider snapped out of distressing daydream. He turned to see one of his colleagues; he was carrying his laptop case over his shoulder and had his car keys in his hand. He waved his hand in front of Rider’s face.
“Yeah, yeah. Where are you going? Its only midday.” Rider was confused by the fact that he was leaving in the middle of the day. His friend chuckled, but then his face dropped when he realised Rider wasn’t kidding.
“Dude, it’s almost six. You’ve been in your office all day and you had all the blinds shut and I thought I better check up on you. What have you been doing?”
“I was doing some research on Ad-“ Rider couldn’t tell anyone about how he suspected Adrian. “Just trying to find any evidence on Claudia’s disappearance.” Rider just thought he must've been really tired, he had gotten no sleep over the past few days. He packed up his things and headed out of his office.
…
Claudia’s POV
Claudia screamed out in pain. She couldn’t take it any more. But she pushed through; she was not going to give in to him. Another blow to the face; blood rolled down her chin.
“Stop! Please stop!” Claudia screamed in his face. He didn’t stop; she wanted so bad to pull that damn mask off his face and to treat him just how was treating her.
“Oh, my dear Claudia…” He replied in a mocking tone. Claudia didn’t respond. She just hung there; hands tied up in chains. She looked at the cold concrete floor as another tear rolled down her face.
