An overwhelming sense of complete failure is all he could feel in the moment; unable to rid the chaos of his mind. It was catastrophic. As he began taking his first steps forward he could see the gates of his nation just out of reach. His aching feet burned as he began to bolt to the entrance where he saw sentinels just ahead. He didn't get very far as pain shot throughout his body, sending him collapsing on the bare ground... He crawled, looking up at the gates as they were opening for him. While on his stomach, looking up, he began to outstretch his hand as if grasping for it... The gates. Visualizing a blinding light making its way through them. The sounds of voices and footsteps rapidly began to disappear, along with a sense of self. Losing more of his strength with each given moment... He was gone. A time of solitude for oneself. An eternity dedicated upon reflection. Within this time, he saw things he has never seen before; things he couldn't comprehend or explain. It was as if everything was translucent... He stumbled around to see a woman sitting under a tree fixing her hair. "Would you mind helping me with this?" At first, he was uncertain of how to react. He was astonished by everything that it left him unsure of how to respond. Then it clicked. "Oh yes, certainly." He began making his way to the woman until she patted a spot next to her. He knelt down and immediately began to put up her hair, only for the woman to give a soft smile. "Let me see your face for a moment, would you?" Salah tilted his head and questioned her at first, "Why do you ask?" The woman chuckled as she brought his face to meet hers. "We have just the same eyes..."
