I was born in the UK but am a dutch girl. I am an only child and the only Muslim in my family. Islam was never inherited by me. I found it when I was lost. I was 17 when I reverted. Before Allah, I spent years trying to fill an emptiness inside me with things that only made it deeper. I made mistakes. I fell into addiction, sin, destructive relationships, and places I never thought I would escape. I became someone I barely recognized. Then Allah found me. Or perhaps, looking back, He had been guiding me all along. Islam didn't erase my past. It taught me how to repent from it. It taught me that I was not defined by the worst things I had done, and that no matter how far I had fallen, the door back to Allah was still open. My journey took me from the Netherlands to Saudi Arabia, from a life I wanted to escape to a life I never knew I was searching for. I found prayer. I found the Qur'an. I found hijab. But most importantly, I found a reason to keep going. This book is not about becoming perfect. It is about falling and returning. It is about the girl who thought she was too broken to be saved, only to discover that Allah's mercy was greater than every mistake she had ever made. I wrote this for anyone who feels too lost, too sinful, or too far gone. Because I was once that girl. And Allah brought me home. From ruin to sujood. From darkness to light. From lost to found.
