Skylar immediately went out the examination hall after she finished the exam. Kaagad naman siyang umuwi sa dorm niya. She fumbled into her keys as she opened the door and threw the books she was bringing on the bed. She sighed. Another exam was finished. She was so exhausted. She didn't expect year 2 of medicine will be ten times harder than year 1.

"Shit," She silently cursed when she noticed eleven missed calls from Izrael. Dali-dali naman niyang kinontak ang number nito.

During the fourth ring, he finally answered.

"Love," She was biting her nails as she was nervous. She was really so busy with medicine. Tulog, kain, mag-aral lang ang palaging routine niya, "I'm so sorry! I was so busy. May exam kasi ako kanina. I didn't have time na to look at my phone, I'm so sorry..."

"It's okay."

Medyo napatigil naman siya dahil sa tono ng boses nito.

"Izo," She took a deep breath, feeling guilty, "I'm so sorry, please understand me. It's just that... I don't know how to manage my time, hindi naman kasi ako ganun katalino. I have to study hard, work hard in order to pass, sana maintindihan mo..."

"I didn't say anything, Sky. I told you it's fine. I'm used to it."

His voice was dry and cold. Skylar suddenly felt even more nervous.

"Izo..."

"Sky, I'm too tired. It's two in the morning."

"Are you mad?"

"No. I'm going to sleep."

"Izo."

"Sky, I'm too tired to talk right now."

"Izo naman," She was starting to feel frustrated, "I already told you I'm sorry. You know how busy I am. I just need to concentrate on this. I want to pass medschool and be a doctor."

"I also have work, Sky," Suddenly, his voice became dark... angry, "I'm also busy. I have a lot of engagements to attend every day, government meetings - but I still find time to call you, to message you or to check on you."

He didn't raise his voice but she knew he was already pissed.

Hindi naman siya nakapagsalita matapos ang sinabi nito.

"I just thought you could understand..." Her voice trailed off, scared.

"I am trying to, that's what I've doing in this whole relationship, Skylar Reese. But have you ever thought of understanding my side? Or... even sacrificing a little time for me?"

Natahimik naman siya ulit dahil sa sinabi nito.

"S-Sorry..." Her voice was trembling. It was obvious that he was hurting and she felt guilty as she knew, somehow, he was right, "Sorry..."

"It was my birthday yesterday," He added, sighing, "But I guess you're too busy to remember. I understand. I'm too tired right now. I'm going to sleep, Sky."

He ended the call.

She couldn't talk fter what he said and she was surprised.

It was his birthday yesterday.

She started to sob.
