My Mother told me that members of the other kingdoms were gathering here in Coaralin for an important meeting today.
"Why do you look so nervous?" Pisces asked.
We were seated by the water fountain, feeding bread to the fishes that the chefs had baked earlier in the morning.
" I'm not nervous. I'm perfectly calm. I just haven't got the slightest idea of what today's gathering will be about. Mother won't tell me anything" I sighed as I tore another piece of bread and threw it into the water.
"Haven't you heard?" His eyebrows slightly raising. "The kingdoms are under attack"
"Attack?" My eyes widen, "from what?"
"Well, it hasn't really reached Coaralin yet, but there have been sightings of shadowy beats in both Avalon and Ragnis. Apparently they are extremely hard to defeat, and there are predictions that things are going to get much worse"
Why hasn't Mother and Father told me? Surely this is important enough for them to tell their own daughter. Maybe they were waiting for the meeting to explain?

"Thank you all for gathering here under short notice" my father said.
Across the table sat the King of Ragnis and his son Aries, the King and Queen of Sonas and their eldest daughter Libra and the Queen of Avalon and her eldest son Capricorn.
"You all have most likely heard of the devastation that is occurring at this moment in time. While the lands of Avalon continue to be devoured by darkness, sightings of creatures have been reported in both Ragnis and now Coaralin" my father explained. "We have already sent our first group of solders to the Darkened Lands, only few were able to return. We believe that the situation will worsen, and that we have a low chance of succeeding" he takes a breath as he bows his head in shame.
"We have decided to join forces and armies, and that we will stop at nothing till Mortis and his armies have been destroyed" the King of Ragnis spoke. His sons ears perking at the sound of Mortis' name.
Mortis? I haven't heard that name before, yet it seems oddly familiar.
"You four are excused now. We have other things to discuss now" my Mother said, looking at me, Aries, Libra and Capricorn.
We all exchanged puzzled glances before being escorted out of the room by the guards.

"I can't believe Zodius is under attack" Libra said worryingly.
"You should see Avalon. The outskirts are being slowly covered in a black substance, it's like something we've never seen before" Capricorn informed.
A black substance? Is that what's going to happen to Coaralin?
I look over to Aries, and see that he looks unusually tired.
"Hey, are you okay. You look extremely tired" I asked with my hand on his shoulder.
"I'm fine" he says, averting his gaze from us.
"Aries, its okay, you can tell us" Libra says, giving him a reassuring smile.
"I just, "he sighs "I just haven't been sleeping that well lately. I keep on having these dreams and I've started to hear voices in my head whenever I'm trying to sleep"
"Voices?" Capricorn Asks "What are they saying?"
"That I need to gather a team or something like that. And that I have to defeat Mortis and save Zodius." He explains. "but it's probably nothing. I think the situation is just getting to my head".
"If it's reoccurring, then it must be serious. My grandmother told me once that dreams and voices were usually spirits trying to guide us" I said, the memories of my spiritually gifted grandmother start flooding my mind.
"Spirits?" He rolled his eyes. "I highly doubt that. And even if it was a spirit, why would it choose me out of all people"
"Just keep track of what it's saying. And if it says anything new or different, you have to tell us" I said.
This could be important. My grandmother used to tell me stories on how some of the biggest wars in history were won with the help of spirit guides.

My father and I had arrived home, just in time for slumber. I closed my eyes preparing for the voice that has been keeping me awake these past few nights.
"4 down, 8 to go. Your team will lead Zodius to victory" it said.
