The things people can do

I was speed walking to check up on my patient and made sure she was alright. And I was so glad that she was. I wouldn't want anyone to die on me, especially on the first day. After I made sure she was okay and everything was working properly I left to go to my next patient when I remembered Melissa Connors. I almost forgot about her. I mean Dr. Craine is on the case too but it didn't matter. I needed to make sure she was okay. I went in and saw something that made me question Melissa. I walked in on her kissing a man. A man that wasn't her husband. He was taller and had more attractive than her husband and when they saw me walk in on them they were startled.
Melissa- "Oh no! Please don't tell Matt! He'd leave me. Please don't tell him. (She was hysterical at this point)This was a huge mistake! I'm such an idiot to do this to my husband. I'm horrible. Please don't tell him. (She sheds a few tears) This will never happen again (looks at the man) right Jack."
Jack- "Yeah man please it was just a mistake. Don't tell Matt he'd never talk to me ever again if he found out. He'd be furious.
Me- "Um, I .... Okay. (Nervous as I was I quickly checked my pager and pretended I had to go somewhere) Another patient needs me, bye."
That was so awkward. I couldn't believe what just happened. You'll never know what can happen doing this job I guess.
I was distracted ,which wasn't a good thing I know , till I bumped into Dr. Caesar again.
Dr. Caesar- " Oh look at that. It's you again(smiles). We gotta stop meeting up like this."
Me- "My bad, it's my fault."
Dr.Caesar- "Don't be. Let's- (he got interrupted when his pager went off ) I gotta go."
I guess it was pretty important ,he was running to get to a patients room. We all have jobs over here, so I gotta get used to this.
I was catching up on some paper work when I was confronted by Jack.
Jack- "Hey."
Me- "Oh hey.
Jack- "You seem like a kind of guy who can keep secrets. But you have to understand, this is pretty serious. Matt can't know about what you saw and what happened. It was stupid I know but don't tell him. Please."
Me- (giving a reassuring look) "Don't worry about it, I won't tell Matt."
After that the rest of my day went pretty well. 36 hours and my first day on the job and no one died. Great. But at the same time I was exhausted. I safely drove home but stopped at a local bakery. It was around 9 pm and I sat down and drank a cup of coffee, the usual, until someone tapped me on the shoulder.
Me- "Um, hello?"(And to my suprise it was Dr.Caesar again)
Dr.Caesar- "Hey David how's it going."(Smiles)
Me- (Quickly finishing my drink) "Doctor Caesar, hello!
Dr. Caesar- "Please call me Stefan."
Me - "Okay. Please take a seat."
Stefan C.- (Sits down next to me) "Thank you. How are you?"
Me- "I'm doing pretty well I just got out of work."
Stefan C. - "Oh so I guess we have the same schedule. I had a nice time with what little time we had. I have to get going ,here's my number and hopefully we will meet again. In public I mean.(He chuckles)
Me- "Thank you. See you later."(I wave goodbye)
That just made my first day 1000 times better. I can't wait till tomorrow.
