Chapter One

"Please Amber, don't make me go." I begged.

She shook her head, "your going."

"I'm not going to make it. They won't pick a girl drummer." I sighed.

She crossed her arms and glared at me, "you never know until you try, now come on."

I growled to myself as I snatched my sticks, then follow my friend out the door.

The whole way to the studio, I couldn't believe I had this chance. I grew up on listening to this band. I kept wondering, how did she get me an audition in the first place?

"Ready?" Amber asked me as we pulled up to the studio.

I felt my stomach twist into nots and took a deep breath, "Ready as I'll ever be."

We walked up to the studio and went in. The bands manager escorted us to the back, where I assume the guys were. I looked around as we made our way farther back and noticed how much of a mess this place looked. The manager slowly opened a door and we went inside. I instently ffroze when I saw M. Shadows sitting behind the mixing board, fucking with a pen. I looked to the couches and found Synyster Gates and Johnny Christ. Coming out of the booth as we walked in, was Zacky V.

"Hey look its Amber!" Johnny pointed out at my friend.

Everyones attention looked toward us.

I looked at my friend weirdly, that Johnny pointed her our and knew her.

"We have another try out for you guys." Lerry, their manager said.

Synyster looked me up and down and smiled, "A girl? Thats new."

"Well, lets see what you got." Matt said nodding his head.

Lerry nodded his head as well and led me into the recording booth were they had a set of drums set up.

"What song are you planning on play?" Matt asked me threw the intercalm.

I shurgged my shoulders, "Give me a song and I'll play it."

"Oo I like that." Matt laughed.

He started to give me a song, but Syn jumped up and gave me one instend.

"Do our song, Almost Easy." He told me.

I nodded my head and took a deep breath. I played the song in my head as I hovered over the kit with my sticks. I pictured Jimmy play it and remembered the videos I had watched of him up close playing the song, then let loose.

"Not bad, not bad," Syn said as I finished, "Do Flash of the Blade by Iron Maiden."

I looked a bit shocked, then nodded my head. I had remember Avenged covered the song on Diamons in the Rough, then picture Syn's guitar start it, then I slowly went into it as I listened to their verison in my head.

"Shit, she knows Maiden." I herd Zacky say in the back ground when I finished.

I looked at the window and couldnt see them or anyone, which helpped.

"Alright, lets see." Syn said thinking.

"Back off Gates." Matt said laughing. "Do Walk by Pantera."

I slightly laughed and quickly went into the song with out thinking or worring about it.

Pantera's Walk was my favorite cover Avenged did. Plus, it was my favorite Pantera song.

"God damn shes good!" Matt said as I finished that song.

I smiled and felt my heart beat faster. They were liking me. I slowly started to feel like I had an actual chance.

"I dont know, I think I need to hear one more song." Syn said.

I sat there waiting for him to tell me what song to next.

"Make her do Sidewinder." I herd my friend say.

I instently glared.

"Ohh I dont think she can! So do it!" Syn said excited.

It was like he expected me to fail.

I shook my head and in stently started the song. I played that song as best as I could, which was the best I ever done.

"Holy fucking shit." Syn said nearly speachless.

I smirked to myself and held onto my sticks tight.

Lerry came into the booth and escorted me out, into another room with Amber so the guys could make a decison. The two of us sat there, waiting, for what felt like forever. I was nerves and excited. I didnt think I was going to get it. I was a stupid young teenage girl, how could I ever live up to The Rev? There was no way I was good enough to fill his shoes.

"They want to give you their answer themselves." Lerry said walking back in the room.

I took a deep breaht, then followed him back into the room they were in with Amber behind me.

I looked at each other them waiting. That had serious, disapointing looks on there faces.

"Hell fucking no!" Syn snapped at me.

I jumped back and felt my heart legit breaking.

Matt shot him a glare, then stood up laughing, "Hes just kidding, Welcome to the Family. You got the job."

I looked at him shocked as he hugged me.

"Really?" I asked near in tears.

Syn nodd his head with a smile as he got up and hugged me, "Yea, you were bad ass."

"Sit." Johnny said shooting over for me to sit between him and Syn.

"You were the last one of the day. It was between you and this guy named Aarin, but you tried extremely hard. You put up with Syns crap." Matt told me, "plus, I think it would be sweet to have a girl in the band."

I shook my head in disbielf. I couldnt believe I just became part of my all time favorite band.

"I told you, you could do it!" Amber told me.

I smiled at her and mouth, 'Thank you', becase I couldnt speak. I was in tears. Tear of joy.

"Well, im going to head out." Johnny said as he got up and started of the studio.

"Im just gunna leave you here." Amber laughed as she quickly ran out after Johnny.

I shook my head, then looked at the rest of the guys.

"Excited?" Zacky asked me.

I nodded my head.

"Our first tour is The Nightmare After Christmas. It kicks off in PA in three months, are you ready?" Matt asked me.

"Of course!" I said excited.

They all laughed and shook there heads.

We sat around and talked for the next hour or so, getting to know one another. I couldnt believe some of the stories they told me. It was every fans dream to be sitting here talking to them about their past and Jimmy, let alone be apart of the band.

"Oh, by the way." Matt said as a girl walked into the room, "This is your drum tech, Brandy. "

"I'd say be very good friends with her, you dont want to piss off your techs." Syn told me.

I nodded my head and shook her ead. I could tell we were going to get along great.

"How about a few drinks tonight? On me in honor of joing the band?" Matt said looking at me, then the rest of the guys.

"You had me at Drinks." Syn laughed as he got up and threw on his jacket, "Johnny's at nine?"

Matt nodded his head, "Sounds good."

"Wait, my ride left me?" I said just now thinking about it.

Brandy laughed and threw her arm around me, "I got you."

I shook my head and laughed then followed her to her car. I could tell, this was going to be a crazy, wild night, but a good one to say the least.
