Chapter 2: Vannesa

Vannesa Wilmore a honour student in Holland HighSchool of Performing Arts. She is 17 years old and a lesbian.

One evening Vannesa and her parents along with her two siblings is eating dinner. At the dinner table a frshly baked turkey is in alongside with garlic bread and mush potatoes. The television is on . A rapid and loud sound of the news got the attention of everyone . The News is all about the Pride Parade that will occur in less than 4 days. Her father looks angrily leaned forward and said "Aren't they aware that they ruining the holy matrimony."
"They must stop influencing more and more people to join them in their sinful doings" Monique ,her mother, added .
"Why is it a sin?" Vannesa ask calmly. "Because it's not natural and men should not lay with men and women must not lay with women" Paul , her father, said angrily. "We loved you Vannesa but if you are one of them we will disown you . I am already fed up by dying your hair red and putting peircing on your face , you are already sinning" Paul said. Vannesa remained quiet and after dinner she go upstairs into her room and cried .

Daniel, her younger brother,who is 9 years old, heard her crying. He went to her sister's room and held her hand. Daniel said calmly. " I know you are one of the people in the tv , if mum and dad stop loving you , I will still be here to love you." Vannesa with no words to say, hug her brother.

Downstairs her father is sitting on the couch while speaking with his phone about making a strike about stopping the upcoming parade. Paul ask the local Church to join in the strike.
