The things that really matter
Are the things I'll never say.
I would tell them to you but
You wouldn't care anyway.
If you knew what I was feeling
You wouldn't judge me so;
But the things I'll never tell you
Are the things you'll never know.
You think that I'm a freak,
You think that I don't hear
The things you say in secret,
The things you say in fear.
As if depression was contagious
And you could get it too,
But I beg you not to judge me
For the things I do.
You don't know why I do them,
And that scares you even though
The secret pain I'm feeling
Is a pain you'll never know.
