Chapter 01

                          [School, 3rd Grade]
"Hey, wait up!" Addison yelled as her friends ran to the top of the playground. "Why do you guys always leave me?" Addison muttered under her breath.
   "Hey!" Addison turned to a kid wearing an honestly adorable panda sweater. "You want to play with me and my bros?" The kid asked, pointing to a boy with fluffy, curly blonde hair and another kid with messy brown hair playing in the dirt. "Oh, and I'm Paris, but my friends call me PanPan." Paris said sticking his hand out.
   "Nice to meet you...PanPan. I'm Addison, but you can call me Addy." Addison replied, taking his hand and politely shaking it.
   "Cool!" PanPan yelled. "Wanna play? We're playing Prison Escape." PanPan asked putting his hands behind his back pretending to be a prisoner.
   "Wow, PanPan sure is full of energy." Addy thought to herself. PanPan looked back at her with huge pleading eyes. "Okay, why not?" Addy agreed. "My friends like to leave me anyways." PanPan jumped joyously in the air, then preceded to grab Addy's arm and pulled her to his brothers.
   "'Ight, so this is Griff," PanPan yelled military style as the brown haired kid stood up, indicating he was Griff. "and this is Isaac." The curly haired kid looked up from his... cooking book?
"Wow, cool. Nice to meet you Isaac and Griff." Addy acknowledged them in turn. "Who are the prisoners and who are the cops?" Addy asked.   
   "We haven't started yet." PanPan explained. "We are still deciding who's who. Alright, ladies and gents! Who wants to be a cop?"
   "Ooooh! Me, me, me! I do. I do, PanPan, I do!" Griff yelled. "Just listen to how cool this sounds: Griff the Cop." Griff said moving his hands as if revealing something invisible.
   "Isaac wants to be cook." Isaac spoke up. "Isaac can cook for prisoners," Isaac suggested, "and cops."
"Um, that's great, but, uhhhh... you know what: you can be whatever you want, Isaac." PanPan stuttered. Isaac gave PanPan a small smile and stood up from his seat on the steps. "Addy, what do you want to be?" PanPan asked, turning his attention to Addy.
"A prisoner." Addy responded.
"Okay." PanPan exclaimed happily. "I'll be a prisoner too. It's fun." PanPan followed as Griff ran to the top of the steps.
"We start here. Prisoners get 30 seconds to run, hide, and do whatever they want while cops have to stay here. After the 30 seconds is up, then the cops can go find the prisoners. If a cop tags a prisoner they have to go back to jail and the only way they can get out is if a fellow prisoner comes to the prison and touches them. Any questions?" Griff explained the rules. Addy raised her hand. "Yes, Addy?" Griff asked pointing to Addy.
"How do cops win and how do prisoners win?" Addy asked.
"Cops win if all the prisoners are in prison. Prisoners win if... I actually don't know." Griff paused to think. "I guess they win when the cops give up." Griff finally said after 2 minutes of thinking. "Any more questions?" Isaac raises his hand. "Isaac!" Griff yelled.
"What does Griff and prisoners want to eat?" Isaac asked, giving Griff his cookbook to see all the meals there were.
   "Ooh, I'd like a hamburger, please" Griff said pointing to a burger. PanPan went up to the book next.
   "Paris wants Sichuan Pork." PanPan pointed to a picture on the cookbook mocking Isaac's way of talking.
   "Ha, ha, hilarious." Isaac fake laughed. "What does Addy want?" Isaac asked forcing the cookbook out of Griff's hands and giving it to Addy.
   "Nutella Mini Pancake Kabobs!" Addy exclaimed with rising excitement. "I'll take that, please!" Isaac nodded.
   "Alright! Is everybody ready?" Griff asked looking around at everyone.
   "Yes, sir." PanPan responded.
   "Sir, yes, sir!" Addy yelled, standing up straight and putting her hands behind her back. Isaac just simply nodded.
   "Ready, set, GO!" Griff yelled and started counting to 30. Addy and PanPan ran off while Isaac went up to the slide area and pretended it was his kitchen.
   "Okay, it's been 30 seconds." Griff announced, looking around the playground. "Cop Griff is coming for ya!" Griff hopped down the steps and started chasing PanPan. Right before Griff was about to tackle PanPan, the teachers blew their whistles to start lining up to go back inside.
   "HA!" PanPan screamed in victory. "WE DID IT, ADDY!" PanPan ran up to Addy and gave her a high five. The four of them walked back to the blacktop together and joined their different classes.
   "Tomorrow, guys?" Griff yelled from his line. Isaac nodded in his line.
   "Yeah!" PanPan yelled back. "Addy you playing with us tomorrow?" PanPan asked Addy in a nearby line.
   "Yeah for sure!" Addy responded excitedly. "Bye, guys!" Addy waved bye as her teacher led her class back in.
   "Bye!" Griff and PanPan yelled back. Isaac waved bye too.
