"Get me out of here!" I cried out before my body began to sink, collapsing onto the hard dark floor.
80% complete.
I attempted to weakly raise my body up only to be met once more with the floor. That was when I heard it. A high pitched ding that had reminded me of the oven that my mother used to love baking with.

"Get me out of here!" I screamed as I suddenly felt a large weight pulling me both ways as if fighting for dominance.

It wasn't long before my entire body was swept off the floor and I found myself in a hospital bed. The room itself was large, holding up to 8 beds, each curtain closed. I began to wonder if I was the only one here.
"Greetings Player."
I looked around shocked as I glanced down to find a blue screen appearing right in front of me.
"My name is R. I am what you call in your world, the game master. Keeping things short, what would you like to be called?" A new voice appeared and I stare nervously at the screen as if trying to make sense of this entire thing.
"Who are you?"
"I am R."
"Where am I?"
"You are in Veritas. A city located between the living and the dead."
"Why am I here?"
"All questions will be answered in due time. Now please player, what should I call you?" The voice rung as I looked to the screen.
My name? Do they mean my username?
"Welcome, Ghost. You will now be put into a team. Please wait for a moment."
Wait. She read my mind!
"Error. Technical Error. It appears as though the city has brought one too many players. No matter. You will be the start of a new team. The birth of Team 11. You will now be transported to your base." The voice stated as my body began to glow bright and slowly, my limbs began disappearing.
"What's happening?"
"You are being transported. Please do not worry. This process is in no way painful." The voice reminded once more as I began to see white. The process was over faster than I had expected as I found that I was now able to see once more.
"Unfortunately, the leader meeting will start in a few minutes so we are unable to transport you to your home base. Therefore instead, we will transport you to the VRA where all weekly leader meetings are held." R stated and before I knew it I was transported into what looked like a large meeting room.
The room itself was bright, with multiple white lights shining through. In the middle of the room, there stood a long table as well as some chairs that decorated it. That was when I began noticing that there were other people besides me.
"So you're the new leader?" A new voice cuts in as I jumped to the other side, trying to find the source of the voice only to realize that it belonged to a girl about 5"2, she had long straight hair that had stopped below her shoulders. She wore what appeared to be a black jacket, outlined with purple streaks. Around her shoulders there appeared to be a purple outlined hexagon that has the number '8' engraved onto it.
"I expected more from the glitch of our system." A brown-haired spectacled girl sneered as I glanced around nervously at the room, trying to make sense of what exactly was happening. That was when I had realized that the people who were present all wore jackets that had numbers on the sides of it.
I could feel their different auras, each of their emotions towards me and let me tell you, most were very intimidating. This, fortunately, didn't last long as the same blue screen that appeared before me during my time at what looked like the hospital room appeared once more and it looked like I wasn't the only one who could see the blue screen as everyone's eyes flew to look at their own blue screen.
"Welcome back players as well as the newest member of our project. Treat him with respect as you treat each other." The same robotic high pitched voice started, "It is time for the first game of the year. As always this is the Harvest Festival. Remember that the points earned here are the points you are going to start with. Good luck to all teams and may you be in God's Will."
This was when I knew,
I was screwed.
