Cassidy's demeanor had become noticeably delicate after learning about her parents' situation. The news had hit her hard, leaving her fragile and vulnerable.

Even despite her emotional struggles, Cassidy was conscientious about her health, knowing that both her boyfriend and grandmother would be all too concerned if she neglected herself. She often found herself zoning out, lost in her thoughts, or pushing herself to work relentlessly, trying to distract herself.

As the first day of their sophomore year approached, neither Warren nor Cassidy was particularly thrilled about the arrival of new students. Their unease was heightened by their knowledge of a certain individual who was bound to be among the incoming class.

The impending arrival of this individual stirred conflicting emotions in both Warren and Cassidy. Warren's feeling was primarily anger, driven by a desire for retribution, while Cassidy's reaction was one of fear. Although the Pyro felt a strong urge for payback, Cassidy simply wished to avoid any connection with him or the Stronghold family altogether.

Although Warren had a deep-seated anger, Cassidy found it difficult to emulate his vengeful feelings. Guided by her grandmother's teachings, she struggled to embrace hatred and preferred to avoid any negativity. Fortunately, Warren recognized and respected her stance, going as far as promising to shoulder all the anger and hatred, so she wouldn't have to.

When Warren reassured Cassidy, saying he would take on all the anger and hatred, she couldn't help but laugh—the first time she had done so in a while. The sound of her lighthearted laugh was a melody that Warren had dearly missed, and it filled his heart with gratitude for her presence in his life. He knew without a doubt that if he hadn't met her, his high school days would have passed him by in a mundane blur.

They complimented each other perfectly, like a light and fire intertwined in a beautiful symphony of support and balance. She provided the light to guide him through the darkness, while he provided the fiery passion that fueled their connection.

"Mornin' Cass" Cassidy had just started shuffling towards the kitchen, still half asleep, when she suddenly froze at the sound of a familiar voice. Her eyes slowly raised, and she saw her Pyro boyfriend leaning nonchalantly against the counter. For a moment, she rubbed her eyes, wondering if she were seeing things, confusing him for Warren.

Her eyes darted around the room, seeking out her grandmother, who normally would have been there in Warren's place. However, much to her surprise, her grandmother was nowhere to be found. To add to her perplexity, she noticed her grandmother's car was conspicuously absent from the driveway, visible through the kitchen window.

Cassidy's gaze shifted towards Warren, and she asked, "Where's Nana?"

Warren nonchalantly answered, "You just missed her; she has a meeting at Hero's United—" He shrugged, hinting that he didn't know much more than that.

"Heroic United Nations," Cassidy chimed in to clarify, her thoughts racing. It had been a significant amount of time since the organization had held a meeting, leaving her concerned about the sudden gathering.

The Pyro drew closer, his gaze fixed on her face. "Is something bothering you?" he inquired as he gently poked her nose. "You're scrunching your nose again," he added with a smirk.

She let out a sigh and rested her head on his shoulder, reassuring him, "It's nothing to worry about right now, at least." She lifted her gaze to meet his, and with a hint in her eyes, she added, "Though we do have something else to worry about now." Cassidy's glance was unmistakably aimed at the subject of a certain Stronghold attending Sky High.

Warren asserted, "I'll ensure he doesn't get close to either of us, so don't worry," he declared with determination. Then he added, "For now, let's just focus on getting through this day. Don't you think?"

Cassidy chuckled in agreement and pulled away, commenting, "Yeah, let's see how many Freshmen will try to avoid us in the hallways."

Their laughter filled the room as they anticipated the reactions of the new students. Cassidy and Warren knew that their presence would undoubtedly cause a stir among the Freshmen, and they were intrigued to witness how many would steer clear of them in the school corridors.
