"get up and get dressed."

the voice startled tom out of the comfortable silence he has burrowed himself into, scrolling through his twitter mentions, liking a few and replying to others. totally manly like, he yelps at the sudden intrusion, jerking up from his spot on the bed.

it's ten am and tom knew for a fact no one was planning on stopping by.

luckily the mystery was soon solved, he groaned as sam stuck his head into the room and tossed him a bottle of water.

"how did you even get in?" tom asked.

"i have a key."

"you have a key?" tom questioned, pulling a white t-shirt over his head to follow his brother out of the room.

harrison is there as well, sipping a cup of tea in a mug that tom is sure is his.

"why are you guys here?" he asked again.

"we have a proposal for you" harrison tells him.

"a proposal?"

sam pats the chair beside him as he takes a seat and hands him a sheet of paper.

tom reads it over, his eyes widening. "these are tickets to vegas, why are we going to vegas?"

his brother rolls his eyes. "because aria's going to be in vegas tomorrow for her birthday"

now he's confused.

"hold up, how do you know about her birthday? that's not even my first question, how do you even know her?"

"remember when we stole your phone because you wouldn't tell us who you're really texting?" tom nods. "well, haz and i messaged her on instagram, and we told her not to tell you, so don't get mad at her."

tom wasn't planing on getting mad at the blonde, but strangling his brother was sounding pretty good to him.

"let me get this straight," tom leaned forward to glare at his brother and best friend. "you've been texting aria for over a month and didn't tell me?"

"yup." sam confirmed. "now can we get back to the topic at hand?"

tom raised an eyebrow at his brother but shrugged and waited for sam to get back to his story.

"sam messaged lia-" harrison began again.

"aria's friend?"

"yes, now zip it."

tom pouted.

"they wanted to do something special for aria's birthday but didn't know what, she just wanted to stay home but they convinced her to take a road trip to vegas. got a nice hotel room and everything." sam explained.

"and where do i fit into this?" tom asked, leaning forward.

"wow you really are daft." harrison sighed.

"we're giving you a front up chance to meet this girl." sam explained you him as if he were a child.

"and if she doesn't want to meet me?"

sam smacked the front of his forehead. "trust me,
she does."

"so," sam starts. "are we going to vegas
to meet the girl of your current dreams?"

he didn't mean to hesitate, but of course he did. harrison and sam both had their eyes on him, waiting for him to make a decision that would affect the rest of his life or at least the next year or two, in a good or bad way, he wasn't sure yet.

somehow, his mother's words popped back into his head and tom was nodding. "yeah, we're going to vegas."
