Vikram's POV:
" Vicky, can you do me a favour?" Vijay asked as I sat with my kids for breakfast. I hope he doesn't bring remarriage again.
" It depends on what you asking " I replied as I started to feed Virat and Vishal. My boys still asks me where their mummy went.
How can I tell them that she died and was in heaven ,not coming back ever!
" Our biggest invester and client is coming here today and will be staying with us for two months. Can you please pick her up? " He asked me.
Before I refuse him, " please don't say no. I have noone to help me at the moment. I would've asked Rani but she was out of station and will reach only by noon. "
I agreed to pick that girl after dropping the kids at school.I arrive at the airport only to know that the plane has just landed. Only when I went inside to receive that girl, I realised that I don't know her name.
I called Vijay but he isn't attending the call.
" Di, noone is here to pick me up!" An angry voice of a women made me turn towards her. Her voice sounded familiar. She has her back in my direction.
I shrugged off and luckily Vijay called me back.
" Pari" I repeated what he said.
" Yes" that woman turned and I was shaken to the core.
It's Khushi. How is this even possible?
" Hello, driver. If you are done staring, shall we leave?" She asked slightly irritated.
I am too shocked to even utter a word. Is she really here?
Khushi's dead. She's not khushi . My mind injected but my heart says different story. Khushi is gone long time ago . This is not my Khushi. Just her lookalike.Pari's POV:
Is he dumb?
I have been waiting for a while for him to pick me up.
Here he is daydreaming. I am starting to hate this idea.
" You there. Take a picture. It will last longer." I snapped at him.
" So, you are Pari?" He asked me still in dreamland.
I nodded and gave him my luggage while keeping cracky with me.
He gave a menacing look before taking it and putting it inside the car. For a driver, he sure has a lot of attitude.
I am already missing di and Jiju. I will call them once I reach the place.
" Are you insane? Why are you driving as if you're flying a jet? I have no plans to die early. You better drive slowly or else I will complain to your boss." I said still agitated by his rude behaviour. We had barely reached the place I am gonna stay when I exploded and started lecturing to him again. "What the hell is this? Are you trying to get thrown out at 180 kilometers per hour speed?"
"Shut up. Why do you have to be here with her face? " He asked me, completely ignoring my anger.
I stared at him incredulously. "What the hell are you blabbering? Are you even listening to me?"
"Nothing. Just leave it. You may have the face but you're not her", he muttered then,
"You!" I scolded. Was he really just going to ignore me?
Apparently not because he sighed although he still wouldn't look at me. "Yes, pari, I can hear you just fine. I just don't want to talk", he said then in a jaded tone.
His ignorance only increased my irritation. "You don't want to talk about how you're making this car ride unbearable to everyone in your vicinity? Or maybe you're referring to another time you don't want to talk about? You supposed to drop me to my partner's house who is your boss and yet you don't think we should talk about it?"
He whipped around to face me, icy brown eyes flashing even if his tone was rude and mean even. "Nope, I already know how it's going to go. I am not a driver. I am his brother. You should learn how to respect people irrespective of their jobs for no job or people are small, lastly don't speak anything and don't ever come infront of me ever again."
I didn't know what to say to most of it so I just focused on the last sentence. I didn't want to hear him trash me again. I had heard enough of that to last a lifetime."Be good then.", I warned him. "it's not like I wish to see you and I certainly don't want to hear you again."
"That's the only nice thing you said today", he protested but backtracked when I looked at him with you're kidding, right? look. "To you, at least."
Although his behavior toward me during the past two hours had been less than ideal most of the time it was true that he was somewhat nice to me. Sure, he pissed me off all the time .
"Would you like for me to call someone for your luggage?"
"No, I'd like to understand how you can torture me through a car ride and then be perfectly nice to me the second we're here." I replied as I looked at the huge bungalow infront of me.
"With all your know-it-allness and booksmartness you sure can be so arrogant and dumb, Pari", he snapped venomously and leaving me alone , I tried to point it out but he simply glared at me murderously .
"Wow", I breathed out and he snorted. Mr. Bipolar stood beside me with a elderly guy. That guy too look astonished by looking at me. Is there something on my face? His smile got wider after awhile.
" Come in, madam" he said kindly. " Ramu Kaka, I am leaving for office. Take her inside but remember what I said."
I wonder how he would act in front of his family. I had known him for a while now. He has a habit of lashing out at people near him when things didn't go his way.We walked up to the house in silence, nervousness filling the air. I grabbed Cracky to feel more secure. This was suppose to be a strange land for me. But no. It feels warm and looks like I was already been here.
I am nervous.I had never been introduced to a boyfriend's family. I don't even have one. What if they didn't like me? What if it got super awkward and horrible? I was stuck here for a month. Why should I feel what they think? If they don't like me, it's their problem not mine. Also it's Mr.Malhotra who asked my Jiju to let me stay here not vice versa. In the middle of all my fidgeting ,we are already inside and suddenly it was too late to run away anymore.
A woman around my Di's age appeared from upstairs.
"K-Khushi?" She whispered. Khushi?? Did I hear her right?
," Sorry, Pari. Welcome to our house. Your room is on first floor . Come , I will show you." She said while taking my hand.
I yanked my hand away from her and snapped" don't touch me like that. " She looked up, her eyes widening just like that elderly man. She was clearly shocked speechless too." Whatever!" I mumbled and walk upstairs to the room. I enquired that elderly man after he placed my luggage inside the room.
" What was his name?"
" Who?" He asked me back.
" That rude guy who took me here"
" Oh him. It's Vikram . We all call him Vicky."
I nodded and he was about to leave.
" oh, I forgot. Thanks for carrying the luggage. " I placed a five hundred rupees note on his hand.
He looks stunned and disappointed. I gave hima tip. Instead of getting happy, he looked sad and gloomy.
He shakes his head " I don't want your money . Keep it yourself. " He placed it on the coffee table and left.
" Vicky was right. She may look like Khushi but she can never be her." I hear him say to someone.
Who cares? It's his loss. I jumped on the bed and switch on my mobile. As soon as it was switched on ,it started ringing.
Di..
" Di , how are you? I miss you already." I answered instantly.
" I too miss you, baby. It's just a momth. Trust me, I can't sleep . I am worried about you. Will try to get you soon if possible. Please for me, do it. You are my lovely sister na" she started to shower her love.
" Ok do. You too take care. I am tired after a long journey. I will take rest and call you soon. Tell Jiju , I said hi."
I ended the call and dozed off to sleep not even caring to unpack and freshen up.
I love sleep.***
