Chapter 2: Falling

Your entire body tenses up. Nay and the other girl would kiss, for a solid minute, with Nay caressing the entire body of the girl. This seems so real. It seems like love.

Your stomach churns as the deed is done.

"Why here? Why now? I thought you said that love was detrimental to your goals?"

Thousands of thoughts flood your head, each one like daggers destroying the world around you. You start to feel sick.

"Why would you lie to me? Why... don't you love me?"

Nay and the other girl pull away, looking at each other with almost killer intent.

"Did you enjoy it?" the girl asks Nay, with a cocky tone.

"I did," Nay smiles. He turns around, and stares at you. His eyes widen in shock.

You quickly hide around the corner, tears streaming down your face.

The girl sees Nay's shocked look.

"Nay, is there anything wrong?" she asks.

Nay turns around and smiles at the girl, "No... it's nothing."

Nothing.

The girl smiles at Nay and plants a kiss on his cheek.

"Well, I'll be going now."

Nay smiles at the girl.

"I'll see you then. Tomorrow again?" he asks.

"Of course," she winks, leaving the classroom and the building.

Nay quickly rushes to you.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry you had to see that. Please, let me explain-"

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have seen this," you say impassively, trying to contain the anger brewing inside of you.

"Please, just let me explain-," he pleads.

"No, I don't need you to explain anything," you say angrily, "After all, I'm nothing."

Nay grimaces after hearing that. "[Name]...," he whines imploringly.

"I... I feel sick," you say, as your legs start to shake. You grab your things and start to storm off. "Don't try to text me," you say with a shaky voice, leaving Nay behind. He looks off into the distance, trying to gather words. None came out.

As you walk off, you notice the debate society walk to the classroom. You don't care, hitting one of them on the shoulder. He notices you crying.

You're deep in thought. Who was that girl? She was definitely a student since she was wearing a uniform, but who was she to Nay? His girlfriend?

But why didn't he say he had a girlfriend when he rejected your confession?

Was that the reason why he rejected you?

But he said that love was detrimental...

Then why?

Why did he lie to you?

Jealousy fills your body. You had dreamed of kissing Nay for so long, his soft lips, feeling his body on yours...

And for a girl to take that all from you in one moment.

You knew that being with Nay was probably too much to hope for, and there were prettier boys and girls that Nay considered over you. But knowing and seeing were two different things. And lying... Nay lying to you was the thing that made you hurt the most over this whole event.

And of course, the feeling on being alone. Alone without the boy you loved the most.

The debate society comes to the classroom.

"Nay, do you know what happened to [Name]?" 2391 asks.

"They... they weren't feeling well," Nay shakily replies.

You clench your fist.

What the hell was he thinking? He's so lame. So selfish.

You head home, and decide to not think of this day ever again.

But it's too late, isn't it?
