I saw a guy who was standing at the sideways. His runny nose and his teary eyes failed to hide the cries he made for the past several minutes. He looks so transparent to the point that the passerby could actually feel the sadness and pain he has in his heart. And then I saw an old empathetic man who had able to sense the burden of the guy. With much mercy and love, he approached the guy not even bothering even when they are strangers. The old man sat beside the guy and gave him a sympathizing tap on his shoulder. By that simple gesture, the guy even bursted out and started showing off all his resentments. "My Dad is dying, and I was fired from my job. My Dad's request is to see his grandchild from me but just a while ago, my girlfriend broke up with me. I was planning to propose with my girlfriend so that I could grant my Dad's request for his awaited grandchild but she left me." The guy cried even more. The old man gave him a comforting tap. "Son, there's a great purpose why it has to happen. But keep your faith, keep praying for all your desire and God will give it to you according to His plans, will, and purpose to your life." Several days passed and the path of the guy and the old man never crossed again.

One day, the old man and the guy crossed their paths for the last time. The guy hugged the old man and they sat along the sideways. "Father, I've prayed all my requests but I haven't received any answer yet. I mean, my Dad successfully recovered from being confined in the hospital, and my girlfriend finally found her way back to me and we eventually got married. The thing is, we don't have any child yet. We both consulted the doctor and we found out that everything is normal. Why can't we make it and have at least one child? I've been praying for it and it is still unanswered." The guy resented. Worries and weariness drawn on his face. He kept pushing to finally have a child just to grant the request of his Dad. The old man smiled and tapped his shoulder. "Son, just trust the process. If some of your prayers have already been answered, why doubting? Keep praying for it, and one day, you'll have it." The guy calmed for a moment and then he let out his question. "Why does it have to take for so long? Am I unworthy to have a child?" The old man laughed a little bit and sighed. "A five-year-old kid was asking for a thousand bill from his parents. He kept asking it but his parents didn't give it to him. Now, why do you think that the parents didn't give the thousand bill to their five-year-old child?" The old man asked. The guy looked perplexed but he finally answered. "Because the child is too young to handle that much money on his own? He doesn't have the capacity to handle the money very well." The old man smiled. "That's it. It requires maturity. The parents know that their child can't handle the money very well so they didn't let him to have it. See it in your case, and ask yourself. Why do you think your prayers are still unanswered? Maybe the Most High knows that you're still in incapacity to have a child. Son, we can only receive the things we prayed for if we're mature enough to handle them." The old man stood up, and he left the guy with a smile.

I feel better when I realized something. When we aim for something to be given unto us, we need to assure that we are already worthy for it. We need to attain maturity so that we could have a proper care for what we have received. We are all worthy to have what we aspire for goodness, the thing is, we just have to recognize our depths and heights so that we'll never be lost in the context. When people learned to trust the process, the queries of doubt will be answered while waiting.
