“Mm baby turn it off.” I groaned, throwing my arm across his chest to wake him up. We forgot to turn the alarm off. Again. He got up and turned off the alarm, then got back under the covers and hugged me close to his chest.

“Good morning love.” Max said, kissing my cheek. I smiled, eyes still closed.

“G’night” I said back, pulling the covers over my head. He chuckled and I could feel his bare chest rumble against my back. I turned around and draped my leg over his body, tracing the lines of his abs with my finger.

“Mm you’re so warm.” I sighed. He smiled and pulled me on top of his so my head was laying on his chest. I lifted my head up again to look at him. He smiled and put both hands on my cheeks.

“God you’re absolutely gorgeous in the mornings.” He said happily. I blushed and dropped my head back down.

“Thanks baby but not as gorgeous as you.” I said with my head on his chest. All of a sudden the phone rang. I groaned as he sighed and reached for the phone.

“No no no no no.” I said, bringing his arm back.

“What?” He chuckled. “It could be important.”

“It’s sunday morning that’s for sleeping in they should respect the sunday rules.” I mumbled.Max laughed and that and stroked my hair, running his fingers through it.

“There are rules to sunday?” He asked playfully. I sat up immediately.

“Of course. Breakfast in bed, no calls till after noon, watch TV all day, stay in bed all day, forget tomorrow’s monday.” I said simply. Max kissed my forehead then pecked my lips.

“You’re cute.”

“I know.” I shrugged. He chuckled and picked up the phone.

“But this is the second time they’ve called so I’m taking it. But I won’t get out of bed. Can’t disrespect rule number four.” He smiled.

I laughed and rolled off of him to check my phone while he takes the call.

“Hello?” He says into the phone. No new messages. Looks like all my friends are respecting the rules.

“What are you doing calling me this early?” I heard him say. “Didn’t you hear? On sundays there are no calls before noon.” Max turned towards me and winked. I rolled my eyes but kissed his cheek.

“Alright man see you tomorrow.” He said.

“And don’t call me again till after noon.” He finished. Then he pressed the end button and looked over to me.

“What are you doing all the way over there baby?” He asked, scooping me up with his strong arms. He leaned his head down to connect our lips. It was a soft, sweet kiss. Perfect for a sunday morning.

“Okay,” I said excitedly, sitting up against the head board.

“We’ve got a long day of binge watching, what do you wanna start with?” I asked, reaching for over for the remote. Max chuckled and grabbed it before I could, and turned on the TV.

“How about the office?”

“Again?” He chuckled.

“Yes! Never gets old.” I said, kissing his jaw to persuade him.

“Mm alright.” He turned on the TV and started scrolling through the ‘watch again’ shows on Netflix.

I pulled back from his side to look at him and he quickly glanced down at me and smiled.

“What?” He laughed, turning his attention back to the TV

“Nothing,” I shrugged. “Just you.”

“Me? What about me?” He said, finally finding there show.

“I’m just lucky to have you.” I said smiling. He brought me back to his side, his arms wrapped around me. He kissed the top of my head.

“I’m lucky to have you too.” He said. I draped my leg around his body to get closer to him. Sunday mornings were so sweet and peaceful.

As the theme song played Max lifted my head up to his and laid a sweet kiss on my lips.

“What was that for?” I giggled.

“Nothing. I love you.” He said. I smiled and kissed him again.

“I love you too.” I said. Then we snuggled back up to watch the show.

Aren't Sunday mornings the best?
