"We've finally got the all clear to leave and go back to our homes."
"Jake, I have no passport, money, and my family hate me. What am I supposed to do?" Ute said. She was lost without the station. It had given her something to avoid the rest of her life.
"You don't have to, but you're welcome to stay with me? Someone's sorting out id and money out for anyone who lost theirs."Ute considered this for a moment. She could stay here, and probably carry on with her nightmare screams every night, or go with Jake and probably not freak out as many people." thank you Jake. But didn't your car explode in the lightning storm two days ago?" Jake had gone to get his things out of his car and found nothing but smouldering ashes.
"I still have my heavy duty boots. My van is less than 2 miles away from here." after they had collected their things and started walking, it started raining."Are you kidding me? I did not ask for a free shower!" Ute muttered. "A free shower? That's what you call rain?" Jake said. "What else would you call rain?" Ute grumbled. "Fass, I call it rain. Because that's what it is." They stared at each other, and just started laughing. "Almost there now. You do drink beer right?" Jake joked. "I've been on the space station for 5 years. That's probably a bad idea."
" We're here now ." After an hour of the rain, they'd got to the van Jake called home. "The door is a bit stubborn sometimes" Jake said. "Jake, I may be wrong, but I think you're meant to push that door." Ute said, after watching Jake struggle with his own door for 3 minutes. "You know my door better than me and yet, I live here", quoting what Ute had said only a few days ago.
Forward to the evening
"You okay?" Jake asked.
"It's just, the past few days have been pretty overwhelming for me." Ute said.
"I think everyone was a bit scared. But it's okay to be scared when you're in space. When I first went up, well, I was terrified." Jake said.
"Really? I was so 'off', I vomited. And I was the only one training in my group to go to space that didn't vomit on the ground." Ute had never told anyone this before, and it really embarrassed her. "What's the time anyway? It's been a long day." Jake checked his watch. "I'm not surprised. It's gone 10."
"I'm going to sleep then. Goodnight." Ute mumbled, clearly exhausted. Jake cleaned up his table, then decided to check Ute in case she had a repeat of last night. She was asleep, but half her body was on the floor. "Well done Fass."End of part 2
