I grew up here, everyone I know grew up here as did there parents and there parents, parents and well you get the picture, it's a quiet little town where you might have guessed up until now nothing remotely interesting really happens. My mum and dad had the typical love story childhood sweethearts from 14 got married at 18 and boom had me! then things went downhill. My childhood was seemingly normal on the outside, but really my dad was an abusive drunk who beat my mum not really what you would picture from a seemingly picture "perfect" family, dad was loved by everyone in the community, they didn't know the Jekyll and Hyde monster that lay in wait to appear after a few drinks, and mum well she had a temper, she was fiesty but didn't deserve the life she had, does anyone deserve to treated this way? most nights consisted of mum arguing with dad over alcohol which them turned into physical blows, resulting in me sleeping in the cupboard just to get some quiet, god when I actually say it out loud no wonder I'm damaged that is not a healthy environment for anyone let alone a kid.
Everyone new everyone no secrets in this town, but yet everyone loves to gossip. I always promised myself I'd get out of here make a new start, somewhere new and exciting where no-one knows anything about anyone and you can be anyone you want create a new path if you will. But when dad died and mum got sick I had no choice but to stay, I had to after all I couldn't abandon the woman who gave me life when she needed me the most.
So life went on, i got a job at the local restaurant, the only restaurant, yes that's how small this place is, spent my days working and my lunch break consistedof taking care of mum before heading back to work and so on and so forth, well you get the picture!I longed for the Weekend,a Saturday night, the one night off a week I would get, where I could forget about all my responsibilities and myself, have a "few" drinks and relax.
