"Alright Nora, yeah, take care then... yeah, I will don't worry about it...I've really got to get on now but I love you, bye." Ted slotted his phone into his back pocket and walked back over to where Alec and Izzy were scanning the monitors for demon activity, and anything mentioning the circle, pulling up old files and checking, double and triple checking any recent cases resembling old ones.

"How's Eleanor?" Alec asked, flitting his eyes up from the screen briefly.

"Brilliant," Ted replied, grinning proudly, "Her blueprints for that new range of weapons are getting tested—she's in a board meeting in the Istanbul institute for it this afternoon—if they work well in missions they'll be mass produced and sent to every institute in Europe."

"Huh, crazy smart inventor girl knows how to go up in the world, you're gonna have to introduce us." Isabelle spoke up, swatting her brother's hand out of the way as she accessed a different file from that screen, transferring it to another screen on the lower row that she was working on.

"I will do, next time she's free, but anyway, have you found anything yet?"

"Nothing much, random foresaken attacks but the documents give a pretty thorough explanation of the cases, and they don't seem to have any connection with ex-circle members." Alec informed, folding his arms in mild frustration.

"We'll find something, I'm sure," he smiled comfortingly in response, before something caught his attention, "For now, I'd question why Jace is lugging a particularly frightened mundane into the institute."

"Not again—" the taller shadowhunter groaned, before stalking away to his parabatai. Ted couldn't help but laugh slightly at Alec's exasperation, it was always the same with him and Jace, but through everything, their bickering made them a lot closer. He turned back to the screens and picked up where Alec left off, working with Isabelle efficiently. She would roll her chair over to one side of the wall of screens, while Ted manoeuvred himself to work on a separate one: from afar, they looked like clockwork, in sync with each other, even outside of battle.

The pair vaguely overheard Clary complaining about not caring about the rules, which they both knew would piss Alec off beyond belief, and so exchanged a somewhat amused look and went to stand beside him. After watching the mundane get teased by Jace and best-friend-zoned by Clary, Isabelle made herself known, by running her stele over her angelic rune.

"Runes give shadowhunters our demon-fighting powers."

"So hot." The mundane commented, causing Jace to clear his throat protectively, while Alec and Ted gave each other a glance—they knew if the stranger made a move she didn't like, Isabelle could take him out without breaking a sweat or chipping a nail.

"The rune!" The mundane corrected, looking fearfully at Jace.

He'd be pretty cute, Ted thought, If he wasn't so hopelessly in love with Clary. And apparently any beautiful girl who talked to him.

"Don't worry Clary," Isabelle laughed airily, "I'll look after the best friend. Besides, I was about to make breakfast."

The three other shadowhunters inhaled sharply, now quite concerned about the wellbeing of the mundane.

"On second thoughts, the runes might be less lethal." Jace shuddered.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." The girl said through an airy laugh.

"Or you could listen to it and keep the lad as far away from a kitchen with you in it as possible."

"Ha ha," she said sarcastically, "Please excuse my boys' lack of manners—this is Teddy, that's Alec...and I'm Isabelle."
