Quarantine is giving me 2 much time lol

Liza blankly stares into the obis of papers sprawled across the large meeting table. They had pulled their fifth all nighter work shift of the week.Every possible timeline of events missed a detail. One piece. One bit of  evidence that didn't fit. Maybe Clancy wasn't wrong? Bullshit. Everything in her theory was complete bullshit. Then why is it working all together? Why did hers almost feel easier.

"Miss Riss had changed her will papers much before the murder. Four months exactly," Quinn glides his fingers along his chin,"So how is that a motive? How is that evidence that he is guilty? It doesn't make sense."

"Four months or not. Someone changed her will to benefit John. So he'd get inheritance money." Aurora scans her eyes across the dead road from the large meeting window.

"But why wait four months to kill her, to ease immediate suspicions?" Liza theorizes.

"Maybe he didn't know how to get away with it? The kid is only 17."Quinn suggests.

"Or did he not even know he was going too?" Aurora lifts papers, looking underneath documents, "Where was that transcript of Johns coach? The one we interrogated?"

"Damned if I know" Liza breathes out. Beginning to help her search.

"Why do you need that?" Quinn questions.

"Because if the coach had some type of schedule set up for John and his piano classes, that's a solid alibi or that's a valid reason he had to delay the murder. Instead of researching satanism."

"Satanism? Clancy told you her timeline theory?!" Quinn states, a clear annoyance that he even has to mention her name.

"Yes, but I'm currently helping you two deny that timeline! So shut up." Aurora grits through her teeth. Her pale nose flushes pink.

"Hell, she's talking like her now too."

"Why does it fucking matter Quinn!" Aurora pushes the papers to the side in a fit of anger. They create a tiny hurricane of words. Swirling around her until they quietly slide to the ground. You can see auroras eyes go calm, as if she's just realized she's raised her voice.

"I- Im sorry I didn't."

"Its okay. It's fine." Liza drops down, picking up the papers, "Its another long ass night. We all need sleep. ok?"

Aurora can't help but watch Quinn. She's never yelled at him before, not like that at least. He looks just as shocked as her. Liza plops the stack of papers into auroras hands. She can't even bother to react, her focus still on him.

"Quinn." Liza speaks bluntly, "Go grab your stuff from the other end of the table. I'll call you a taxi. We are obviously not getting anywhere tonight"

Auroras eyes simply follow Quinns figure, as he quietly grabs his bag. Tossing his jacket over his shoulder before silently leaving.

"He didn't say goodbye." Her eyes fill with tears, her throats closing up.

"No shit he didn't aurora." Liza cocks her head up to look at her," Look, go home sleep and then i'll invite him to our coffee date tomorrow . Just say sorry then."

Aurora drops the papers onto the table before whispering, "No, I'm not letting him go without-."

"Clancy listen to me-" Liza whispers, stumbling on her words.

Aurora stops walking. Pausing in the middle of the meetings doorframe. Her right arm holding the wooden frame. She slowly lets it drop before turning her head slightly. Enough that Liza can see her side profile, she's looking at the tiled floor. Liza runs her hands up her biceps. Embarrassed.

"Aurora i'll call you a taxi too, maybe i'll stay?" Liza quickly speaks.

"You miss her don't you?" Aurora stares blankly. Her gaze still at the floor. Liza doesn't respond, she simply collects the stack of papers, throwing them into her book bag. She finally looks up. Confronting Liza as she tries to leave the room.

"You want her to be your partner in this job again." Aurora is hardly asking her anymore, when Liza attempts to sneak through her she's shifts her weight. Blocking her.

"You only are my friend cause that's one thing you can cling onto." Aurora gets closer, locking eyes with a now annoyed Liza. She laughs, but its nervous laughter.

"I don't need you so I can see her." She moves in as well, "Whats even worse is I've watched you become her."
