Smooth jazz echoes around a hangar, drowning out the sound of an air wrench. A foot taps from underneath a spacecraft while the music picks up pace. Suddenly someone grabs the very foot yanking a young man from underneath the project. A womans voice can be heard barely over the music, "James! It's time to go home! I'm starving!".
"When arent you hungry?" James replied as the music fades away.
Getting up from the cart he was lying on James grasps his lower back as he leans backwards, stretching out. "I didnt realise it was this late already. I'm sorry." Bridgette gave him a very dirty yet playful look, "You will just have to make it up to me by cooking dinner tonight."
"I cook every night, you act like you do so much cooking." James teased as the two headed to the locker rooms. Just before he left the hangar James turned off the lights, they almost seemed to slam as the lights went out one by one, the last to go out silhouettes the ship he was working on before the whole room was enveloped in black. Bridgette wipes some grease off of James' face using her thumb. "Stop! You treat me like a child. I can wipe my own face." Embarrassed and bright red James blurts out. "Its only because I love you. I'll see you after we get changed, dont ditch me again!" Bridgette's gaining in volume as she heads down the hall.
About fifteen minutes passes as James stands waiting in the hall as he plays on his phone. The door to the female locker room swings open and there was a flash as James snaps a picture of Bridgette. "What are you doing!?" She yells while trying to take away his phone. "I'm just taking pictures of you! Your hair is always such a mess after work and it perfect blackmail." Fighting her off the best he can.
Pouting Bridgette puts her hair into a ponytail as James leans into her. "Hey you know it's been a year since we started living together so can we have a picture?" He holds up his phone and smiles while she gives a small smile trying to stay mad, her dark hair standing out emensly against the light blue background.
"Come on lets go home. I have a great idea for dinner I think you will enjoy it." On the walk home youd almost think the two were a couple by the way they joked and walked so close to each other. No matter how much James wanted that to be so, the two were only friends. They had met in elementary school and have been friends ever since. James was tall standing above most everyone else where ever he went. His hair was so dark youd almost think that he put oil in it. His eyes almost a golden color that shined when he looked at his bestfriend and a smile that only showed when with her as well. While Bridgette was tiny, barely hitting James at the chest but was only slightly smaller than most. Her hair was dark but didnt nearly have the depth of her friends, it shined brown when struck by the light and her eyes were blue like a clear sky in the spring and were laced around the edge with green a deep green. Though they looked much different than each other their feelings, heart and some would say their souls were in sync almost as one. Though the two could never tell each other how they felt in fear of losing the other.
As they arrived home the two were so exhausted all they could do was flop on the couch sinking into its comfort. "Can we just order in tonight? You can choose." Staring at the ceiling James asked her praying she would say yes. "That's fine, but I want Chinese!" She rushed to the phone and ordered their usual as she was super excited like a child on Christmas day. A chuckle came from James as he sat up. Bridgette plopped herself right next to him and rested herself against him. The two sat like this quoting their favorite movie almost word for word waiting for their food to arrive. The night passed, food containers lying all over the coffee table as the two sleep on the couch, James clinging to Bridgette while she sleeps with a smile on her face as if she was in heaven.
