Picture is what Jen looks like at different ages

*Liam's POV*

He's been silent. Literally it's like he's not even there. Little noises of his pencil scratching the pages or him sipping the pages free of the eraser pieces. i don't know how he does it, not talking it's... I can't do it; I feel like I'm not alive or something. I feel like even talking to Sally and Freddie would be better than this killing silence. or two days all I've been doing is sleeping, eating and drawing. I've drawn Jenavieve from memory about five times now. She's the biggest secret he's got... but, why? Everyone knows he did something to get in here; everyone knows he doesn't like to talk about it; everyone knows he doesn't eat a lot; everyone knows he keeps to himself, but nobody, nobody knows about her.

"Would you stop thinking so loud?" Frowning I looked over the bed down at him sitting there, in the exact same spot he's been sitting for two days, not moving.

"Come on? Seriously as if that the first thing you say in two days."

"Fine, could you please stop thing so loudly." I rolled my eyes. and jumped down from the top bunk.

"You haven't eaten. " I said turning towards him. He shrugged and went back to his book.

"Come on Sean." I handed out my hand for him to take it, "You're coming with me and we're getting food."

"No way." He shook his head and laughed at me.

"Don't laugh at me I'm serious. You need to eat Sean."

"I said no. You can't make me."

"It's been to days. they'll start noticing you're not eating and they'll give you shots."

"I know what happens after you haven't eaten for four days okay? I've been here longer. I also know how to get out of it."

"I don't care. Sean it's not healthy. "

"Do I look like I care?"

"No. That's what worries me."

"Look I've got a month left in here then I'm out. Don't try and intruded on my life when you're not going to be in it much longer." I was shocked. I'd been assuming he'd finally open up but he's just been stalling it till he leaves for good.

"You're trying to get out of here without having to talk about it."

"Wow, genius caught on."

"I don't get it." I shook my head,"Why try to keep it to yourself when all its going to do is kill you on the inside."

"Because this way it's only my problem."

"Well I guess you're just going to have to deal with the fat the I don't think it should be."

"Whatever. Look I get out of here and I'm alone. You could go back. or find your parents."

"How did you-?"

"I looked in your records."

"But that's impo-"

"Impossible, I know. But not for me."

"I don't know if I should be shocked that you did it or offended that it was easy to do."

"Both." He grinned, putting down his book and getting up, "Well coming?"

"What?"

"Food."

"Oh, yeah." I smiled faintly following him out of the room. I shook my head looking at him walking down the hallway 'I don't understand him'.

*Sean's POV*

He's getting to close and I don't like it. I've got a month left, I can ignore him, pretend he isn't there but... I don't want to. He actually cares, nobody's ever cared. I want up protect him not let him get too close but... I can't. He won't listen. He still thinks he can help. If only he knew.

"Look the freaks out of his room." I looked up at the voice, Freddie.

"Go away Freddie. I told you to stop." Liam's voice came from beside me. I turned seeing him glaring at Freddie.

"He's hot a month left in tux hell hole don't be jealous he gets out before you do."

"A month? Is that what he told you?" Freddie laughed and looked at Sally. "You hear that? He's got a month left!" she laughed and turned to Liam.

"Boy you must like him more than we thought." And they walked away laughing. I closed my eyes trying to calm down.

"What did they mean?" Liam's voice came smoothly questioning whether he should have asked or not.

"Don't." I turned towards him glaring and them moved past him heading back to the room at lightening speed.

"Sean!" His voice came screaming after me. "Sean wait!" I flamed the door behind me and fell against it looking it and sitting down on the ground my head falling on my knees as I pulled them up to my chest. "Sean?" his voice was soft and my name sounded like a question. "Sean, please. What's wrong? I wanna help." I shook my head.

"You shouldn't. You should just leave me alone and not care."

"Well I do! I do care okay. And I'm not gonna stop caring. So, damn it, just. open the door and talk to me Sean."

"No!"

"Why!" his voice came through the door sharp and angry. "Why can't you just accept my help." He whispered the last part just loud enough for me to ear if through the door.

"Because you can't!" I yelled. I've had enough of this. I unlocked the door and pulled it open, I could feel the tears stems drying on my face as I kept the rest of the tears in. "I don't want to let you help because you can't help." I said staring him right in the eyes and practically glaring.

"Why can't I help?"

"Because you can't cure it. Nobody could."

"Cure? What? What are you talking about?" I shook my head and went to the bed sitting down on it leaning my elbows on my knees.

"You want to know why I'm here?" he came and sat down next to me and nodded. "When I freaked my parents sent me here because they thought if I could hurt my dad or almost, I'd have no trouble hurting Jen. They saw me as harmful. And I didn't have anywhere to go. So they sent me here." He slowly nodded letting me know he was listening and it was okay to continue. "I... when I freaked, me an my dad had just gotten home from the hospital. I could feel something was wrong they had done tests a free weeks beforehand and we had went to get the results...they wouldn't tell me what they said. Wouldn't let me see the papers. My dad said he'd tell when we got home so I waited and when we got there my step mom, Laycy, she came out with Jen and asked for the result my dad looked hesitant, but when he finally gave in all he said was, 'There's nothing we can do.' I didn't even know what he was talking about." The tears started again and I couldn't stop them this time, I tried but I couldn't I've had enough of holding it in. "I screamed at him to tell me what was going on but when he didn't answer I got scared. Finally I snapped I started hitting him. I didn't even realize how hard I was hitting until Laycy pulled me off of him. she said she was sorry, said they had told the doctor to do all the tests twice. I still didn't understand and then finally she just, she turned me around and looked at me and I could see the tears in her eyes and she said," I took a deep breath and looked at him.

"What did she say?" he looked confused but like he understood.

"I have cancer."
