I've said it before and I will say it again. I am not ordinary. My friends define me as "Special," or at least, they used to. Before they took off with my sisters Daphne and Cora and never came back. Not yet. My mom says I need to look on the bright side. What bright side? My best friends and my older siblings are gone. People look at me and wonder what big mistake my mom made. I am 13 years old yet I have no wings. Mara, my friend, got her wings when she was eight. Eight! Her and Anya picked me up and fluttered there oh so precious wings in the moonlight. On those nights their wings looked more dazzling than ever. Anya's glossy black hair and clear blue eyes still haunt me. The way she looked at me with pity when they took off into the midsummer-blue sky.

"Goodbye, Zara." She said. Her voice was cold, as if she was letting go of something she had been holding close for so many years. Mara waved and gave me a weak smile. I did the same. I watched them and my sisters fly off into the distance until they reached my horizon. I still wonder where there's is.
