Saf offered to walk me and Bea home afterwards. He apparently lived quite close to our house. The weather had turned chilly, and I hugged my jacket closer, wishing I'd worn a coat instead.
"You know, some guys are having a party Saturday night. A welcome back from the summer thing. You both up for it?"
Bea looked at me. "I don't have any plans yet. What about you?"
"I'm not really a party person. Besides I have that ML assignment due. I'd rather stay in."
Not to mention I would know absolutely no one at this party. It'd be so awkward.
"Aw but the assignment's due next week. I have to write it too. You'll have plenty of time for work. You need to have fun now." He squeezed my hand.
"Yeah you should come" Bea linked her arm with mine. "It'll be fun. I'll introduce you to everyone. It's the best way to start a new semester, trust me."
"It's the only way to start a new semester." Saf gave me a wink.
"With a raging hangover and feeling like you'd rather die? Sounds festive".
They both start laughing at that, and I can't help but notice that Saf still hasn't let go of my hand yet. Should I pull it away? Our house was in sight now.
"You're going to love it. I'll invite Dean too, you can get to meet him" Bea grins.
"Is that the guy you had a date with the other night?"
Saf answers instead. "Oh yes. You should see these two lovebirds together." Bea shoves him in response. "They can't keep their eyes of each other. It's sickening, to be honest".
"I'd say it's sweet" I shrug.
"Yep. Sickeningly sweet". Saf grins at me as Bea sighs. "So what about you Liz? You got any special guy friends you'd like to introduce us to?"
"I-"
"Liz?"
I almost jump at the sound, looking ahead where a shadow is walking towards us. He passes under a streetlight and I sigh in relief at the now-familiar brown hair and black-clothes.
"Hey." I pull my arms away from Bea and Saf, taking a tiny step forwards. "What are you doing here?"
Jungkook pushes a hand through his hair, taking us all in in one glance. "Gym." His clothes looked rumpled, his hair sticking to his face with sweat. "I didn't realize you'd be out at this time."
"I-". Suddenly remembering my friends, I gestured towards them. "This is my roommate Bea and our friend Saf. And this is Jungkook, my..." I trail off. My what exactly? Friend?
"Her tea-drinker." He comes up behind me, slipping an arm around my waist. I hold back a gasp, sending him a sideways glare. Was he playing me again? "She brings me tea and I get her coffee". He looked at Saf, before turning towards Bea. "Bea, how are you? Liz didn't tell me she was staying with you." When would I tell him that? We weren't exactly friends. I quietly try to step away from his arm, but he just tightens his grip, not moving an inch.
Bea beamed at him. "I'm great Guk." I smiled at that. "How have you been doing? Had a good break?"
"Yep. It's good to be back though. Especially with Liz here" he smirks down at me. I pinch his hand, making him wince and pull back his arm. Saf was eyeing us with a confused look on his face, mouth twisted to the side.
"Aren't you one of the boys from that kpop band? BTS, right" Saf says.
"Yeah, you heard of us?" Jungkook said, tilting his head to the side.
