Hi guys, sorry it's been so long, I've been super busy. This is a short chapter but I'll probably updating again today or soon so don't worry. i love yall

Sakura huffed. "This is kind of sad, for real."

"I know..." Naruto replied.

Suddenly, Shikamaru sensed the chakras behind him begin to stir again. He looked over his shoulder to where he felt them, on the top of a nearby building.

"Oh no!" Sakura exclaimed as they made eye contact. "We're compromised..."

"C'mon, seriously?! And you thought I was the one who was gonna get us caught, ya know-"

"Naruto! Sakura! I know you're there, stop being dumbasses and get down here," Shikamaru yelled up to them.

The two mischievous Shinobi broke into a cold sweat. "What do we do?!" Naruto said.

"I don't know, but we have to confront him eventually. Cha, I knew this was a bad idea!"

"You agreed to it, ya know!"

Shikamaru's left eye twitched. How much did those losers see...? He tried to keep his nervousness from reaching the surface. His hands found their way back to his pockets.

Naruto and Sakura finally leapt down from the rooftop where they were hiding and faced him.

"Go on, explain yourselves," Shikamaru said.

"U-Um, well, you see..." They stammered.

"Spit it out. How much did you see?"

"We didn't see anything," Sakura lied.

"We totally saw everything!!" Naruto exploded.

Sakura kicked the blonde in the shin. "You dumbass, why would you just admit to it like that??"

Shikamaru rubbed the back of his neck. I'm such an idiot... I shouldn't have done anything when I obviously felt a presence near me. I must have gotten too caught up in the moment... what a total drag.

"Everything, huh," he sighed.

"So, are you and Gaara's sister going out now, or what?" Naruto rubbed his nose with a wide grin.

"Yeah, you and Temari-san seem perfect for each other... in a weird way, but still!" Sakura's eyes glistened.

"Hmph. It's none of anyone's business but ours. And if you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you kept this to yourselves. I really don't want this to be public information, and I'm sure Temari wouldn't either. You two know about the position we're in, right? We technically shouldn't be allowed to see each other like this at all. As far as you all know, I'm just her escort."

"Oh, so it's like a secret, sexy affair, am I right?" Naruto said with a giggle.

Sakura elbowed him in the ribs. "Don't say things like that! Like he said, it's private."

Shikamaru put a hand to his chin. "Yeah, I guess you could say that."

"Why are you agreeing!! Don't encourage him!" Sakura exclaimed.

"Huh? I'm not encouraging anyone." They laughed.

Naruto cleared his throat. "So, you guys are really going out for real this time? It's not just some escort mission?"

"That's the gist of it."

"But it must be hard keeping it all a secret. I mean, what couple doesn't hold hands when walking together, or display any kind of affection in public at all?" Sakura said.

"Well, it's like this." Shikamaru smirked. "If you can't show affection in public, then it just kind of builds up. That's what alone time is for." He winked, obviously teasing her for asking.

Sakura blushed. Temari... I think you've unlocked a side of Shikamaru that I had no idea existed... a shiver went down her spine. It's weird.

"See ya." Shikamaru waved goodbye as if nothing happened. He held back a laugh as he walked between them.

"Sakura-chan, you're totally embarrassed by what he said, ya know," Naruto stated, eyeing the girl's face.

"W-What? No I'm not! It's just the way he said it. It was different than normal."

"It's called innuendo."

"I know what it's called, you jackass!"
