I checked my reflection to see what color my hair was today, I hadn't looked in the mirror at all. Hmm. Brown. My hair wasn't brown often at all. I decided to keep it brown. No point in changing it. Plus, I didn't want to have the most outlandish hair for the sorting. The door slid open. I heard laughter.
"Can it firsty. This is our compartment."
I looked up at them. 4 big, beefy guys were standing in the doorway, all with their trunks behind them.
It took all my willpower not to run, considering I was so small, but if I wanted to be in Gryffindor, I had to act like one.
"No. It's not your compartment. I was here first."
The guy in front growled. "What did you say?"
He advanced toward me, the others following. I stood up, facing them. I willed myself to stand straight, not tremble. I heard a girls voice. "Goyle! What are you doing?!"
Two of the guys turned around but the biggest one swung out and hit me. I felt my back hit the window. There was a shrill "Petrificus Totalus!"
I felt someone shake me. "Kid, you alright?"
I looked up, and responded when I stopped seeing double. I nodded.
An older girl was looking at me with concern, wearing her robes and a Gryffindor tie.
I frowned. "Where'd they go?"
The compartment was empty except for the two of them.
"The other three scamepered, carrying Goyle with them. God I hate those excuses for humans." She muttered under her breath, something about Slytherins being toerags.
She handed me a chocolate frog. Someone else entered the compartment. It was a boy, who looked my age, with the same chocolate hair as the girl helping me.
The boy spoke. "Sara, I can't find anywhere to sit."
The girl, Sara, smiled, and helped me sit up on the seats. "Do you mind if we sit here?"
I nodded. She spoke again. "I'm Sara, and this is my brother Daniel. Are you a first year?"
"Yes."
"Daniel is too. I'm a fourth year, and unfortonatly in the same year as those nasty jerks. What's your name?"
"Teddy Lupin."
"Who're your parents?"
Teddy recoiled a bit.
"I'm sorry if I offended you. I was just curious." Sara blushed.
"My parents are dead."
Daniel spoke for the first time. "Sorry Teddy."
"Were you brought up in a muggle orphanage then?"
I shook my head. "No, my godfather brought me up."
"Who's your godfather."
"Harry Potter."
Sara and Daniel looked shocked and spoke in unison. "No way"
I was confused. "Why is that so surprising?"
"You don't know who he is?!" Sara looked at me in awe.
I shook my head.
She sighed. "Well, it's time you hear the story that every other magical child grows up hearing. He's in the defence textbooks, on chocolate frogs. You didn't know?"
I felt myself blush. "Harry said everyone who was in the Battle of Hogwarts got on the chocolate frog cards, but I never got Harry's." I opened my bag. "I have some though." I pulled out a handful of cards.
Daniel got excited. "I collect cards too! I have about five hundred, but I don't have Fred or Appriega."
"Oh! I have 3 Freds!" I pulled one out and gave it to Daniel, who than gave me one I didn't have yet.
"Boys."
We looked towards Sara. "Do you want to hear the story?"
I nodded.
"You-Know-Who was gaining power. He had a prophecy about a boy who would be his downfall. He went to kill the boy, but the killing curse rebounded, killing You-Know-Who, yet the baby survived. Harry Potter became the boy who lived, the only person to ever survive the killing curse. Everything was fine for 13 years, and Voldemort came alive agian, killing Cedric Diggory in the Triwizard Tournament. You-Know-Who took over the ministry 3 years later. Harry and his two friends, Hermione Grangrer and Ron Weasley-"
I gave a gasp of surprise. "They're my Aunt and Uncle! Well.. I've called them Aunt and Uncle for my whole life.."
Sara chuckled, and continued. "They went on a dangerous mission to destroy You-Know-Who. You-Know-Who attacked Hogwarts, and everyone who was of age fought against him. That's when Harry Potter finally defeated the Dark Lord."
"Woah...... I lived with a hero?"
Daniel laughed "The greatest hero!"
The trolley came by. "Anything from the trolley dears?"
I bought some of everything, and devoured them as I spoke to my new friends.
