Victorie

We were easily the biggest group on the platform. Three families of Weasleys, a Potter family, the Scamander family, and the Malfoy family. Lily was hanging by my side rather nervously, talking with Hugo, Lorcan, and Lysander, all first years. I looked around. Albus was talking with Rose and Scorpius, James with Dominique, Fred, and Roxanne, and Teddy with Andrew, a Slytherin in his year.

Oh god. Not Andrew. No no no. He had seemed so sweet, so caring. Then.. boom. I broke up with him, on the last day of term. I doubt Teddy knew, I hadn't told anyone. I had heard him talking rudely about my family. I should have known.  He saw me. Shoot.

"Hey Victorie.. Can we talk? You haven't responded to any of my owls.."

I looked round, trying to see if Teddy was in earshot. He was talking with Lily, I don't think he can hear us. Andrew motioned for me to follow him out of earshot of everyone.

"Look, last year, I hadn't said anything bad about you. That was my friends, and I was telling them off. Would you take me back?"

I hesitated. He said that with so much conviction, I believed him. He really had been defending us. I stood on tiptoe, gave him a little kiss. " 'Course."

He smiled, and kissed me again. I heard a cough. I turned around and saw Teddy looking awkward.

"Umm.. Could you guys maybe wait on the kissing part till you're alone?"

I stuck my tounge out a him. "Like you don't ever snog."

"Well, for one, I don't have a girlfriend, even if I did, I wouldn't kiss in front of people!"

I was surprised. "I thought you were getting pretty serious with Amanda."

"We.. Broke it off. During the summer."

"Really?"

"I'd rather not talk about this!"

I shrugged. "Ok. We'd better get on the train."

I gave my family all hugs, promised to write letters, headed onto the train

Teddy found his friend Daniel sitting in an empty compartment, so we joined him. There was a small rap on the compartment door. Lily, Hugo, Lorcan, and Lysander were standing there awkwardly.

Lily fidgetied with her fingers. "Umm.. Could we sit here? James kicked us out and there isn't anywhere else..."

"Sure little Lily Flower."

Teddy and Daniel helped get their trunks onto the rack, and Lily sat next to me. If I had to pick a favorite cousin, it would be her. I had grown rather protective of her.

I leaned against Andrew, who was observing Lily and I, and I could feel his mind picking apart our relationship.

I listened to Andrew, Daniel, and Teddy talking about quidditch, not joining in because I had nothing to contribute. I started absentmindly braiding Lily's long pale red hair. The trolley came up, and, since we were at the back, we bought almost everything. After I ate, I excused myself to change into my robes, and Lily came with.

"Vic?"

"Yes flower?"

"I'm scared."

"Aww Lily."

I bent down to straighten her robes. "Of course you are. I was. Everyone is."

"Hugo isn't. Or he tells me he isn't."

I poked her chest. "He's lying."

She gave me a hug.

"Come on flower. Let's get back to the compartment."
