Time went by, the monster occasionally reached out to the pink girl, but the green girl was rarely the topic of conversation. By now, their sophomore year was drawing near. The closer and closer the first day of school came, the more anxious the pink girl became. She just starting to get over the monster and the green girl. On top of that, she had to go to a new school that was much bigger than the last. On the first day, she tried her best to focus on her classes and getting to know the new building. But every corner she turned, she was afraid she would see them. It made her sick. She was afraid of them. The green girl was so well known and loved. What was the pink girl compared to her? The pink girl grew to dislike the monster and the green girl. How couldn't she? Every thought - every mention of them made her physically ill. The pink girl had done her best to keep the monster happy, but it wasn't enough; not compared to the green girl. Everytime she saw them together, they were smiling and laughing. Both girls even had the same friends. The escape was impossible. When the monster wasn't at school, he was talking to the pink girl at home. It was all very exhausting. By the time the second semester had rolled around, the pink girl would be starting gym class...along with the green girl. This had to be the ultimate joke. It was right out of one of the monster's naughty stories. Old thoughts resurfaced, whether the pink girl wanted them to or not. Due to certain complications, the pink girl was unable to participate completely in normal gym activities, but she still had to dress out. The two girls had lockers right across from each other. There was only one bathroom to change in, unlike in middle school where there were multiple stalls. Now there was really no escape. The pink girl couldn't help but to look at the green girl while she was changing. Her body was actually quite beautiful: lovely curves, pretty pale skin, long red hair. It was like admiring a work of art in an art museum. Harmless. Outside of the locker room, the pink girl would walk in circles, while everyone else, including the green girl, would do basic excercises or run laps. The pink girl would think long and hard while she walked. She thought about last year when the monster wanted the two girls to be together and how he didn't. She thought about how she felt confused and hurt. Then, she thought about the green girl in the locker room again...amazing. Confusion all over again.
