After a shower from the trying day Eddward I don't the brace once more. A shirt only made it  more uncomfortable, though he detested it he was diligent in following doctors orders.Having properly seated it he begin preparing his evening meal. Which proves far more difficult than he would have ever envisioned. Attempting to diced carrots alone was infuriating.
There was a knock at his door. He shouted for the owner to come in, and that he was in the kitchen. The door clicked closed and large footsteps softly thudded across the carpet and floor stopping at the kitchen tile. Eddward spoke glancing upward to the wall clock in front of him.
"You are early, sit down." The chair screeched as the person sat. While attempting to slice a carrot, a chunk flew out bounced off the wall hitting Eddward in the four head. Causing him to anger lay mutter out
"insufferable." A deep voice food all of snickering laughter.
" I don't think that is how you're supposed to cut vegetables." Eddward wipped around so fast and wide eyed he almost didn't notice the the brace wrapped around his thin frame. Kevin's laughter quickly disappeared into calm shock. His voice coming out of whisper Like. " dude, what the hell?" Honest concern made its way across his eyes, then whole face. Eddward sighs rubbing his eyes with his fingers.
"I presume my perpetuated ruse is discovered now. Run along and expose it to everyone." He said making it a shoo-shoo gesture waving his free hand. Then turned back to his massacred carrots.

Feeling the presence behind him he turned once more and met the deep lime green eyes The large hard bodied quarterback. Kevin's expression contorted, twisting up in pain and hatred. Having childhood experience and minor trauma around the physically imposing man. Edward instinctively reeled back in retreat. Only to bash his abused back in to the counter. Forcing him to hiss out in pain. Kevin still stood motionless, His face still contorted.
"Is-is this because of me?" His words riddled with guilt as they fell from his lips; as he cautiously reached for Eddwards upper arm. The pale slender man quickly shipped back and side step around, him hiding his back.
"Kevin. I assure you sure you –He chited.– This has absolutely nothing to do with you."
Kevin turned crossing his arms, eyes as they followed Eddward. "Really." He snarled, irritated at the go fuck yourself tone he was just given. Like what the hell! He stopped beating them years ago.
"Then just 'how' did you get so messed up?"
Edwards expression dropped, voice cold. " One can't leave well enough alone can you Kevin?"
Kevin friend shock "Oh wow a conjunction. You must be pissed." -Returning to calm irritation- "No; parents didn't raise me like that. Mom'ed kill me too."
Edward check up having laxed slightly. " your mother sounds kind"
"Yea." He spoke modestly sticking his thumbs in his bright read hoodie pockets. There was a quiet minutes pause.
"Listen, um, how about I help around here for a while-turning his head to the murder scene on the counter-"looks like you need it"-looking back-"what do'ya say?" Edward did not know if it was the Excruciating pain, fatigue, or something else. However he reluctantly he agreed.
"Cool." Suddenly Kevin's disposition Surprisingly changed From a cold and stiff to warm and welcoming? Shocking Eddward with the rapid change in atmosphere. "Sit down, I'll cook." Kevin stated while taking off his hoodie. Revealing a starch white skin tight wife beater stretched to every washboard abs and sharp shoulder. One could almost see his nipples if they tried hard enough.
Soon enough the smell of searing vegetables floated in the air. Kevin broke the comfortable silence. "Hey, not that I care or anything. But don't you need, like protein in this or something?" Not wanting to agitate his back. Eddward spoke confusion in his voice.
" What do you mean? There is an abundance of beans, lentils and other nutritious vegetation to adequately provide the necessary protein." Having examined the pan closer.

"Yea true I guess. But what About meat? You like vegetarian or something?"
" I merely prefer to refrain from Greece a few weeks before a big swimming event. It makes me feel more hydrodynamic." Kevin ripped out a Hardy laugh startling Edward.
"Why the sudden outburst!" Eddward quipped clutching his chest.
Still giggling he wiped a tear from his eye. "Nothin' it's just hard to believe you're superstitious." Kevin plated food then served him. "Makes you seem more human ya'know?"
Slightly stunned, Eddward at the plate then back up at Kevin. "One would presume that the chef would join in the meal as well."
"Are you asking to dinner?" Kevin responded confused.
"Mother would kill me if not." He mocked with a sly smile. Kevin laughed more and went to get a plate.
"There are libations in the cupboard to your right should you like."
"Okay." Kevin answered opening the door. Astounded to discover it was chock full of sealed fancy high end liquor bottles. The ginger whipped around shouting.
"DUDE! what the fuck!?" Edward set down his fork remarking puzzled.
"Is there not something you would enjoy?" He snatched random dark liquid filled bottle from behind reading it continuing to freak. His upper lip dropped like an ape as he continued to squawk, Pointing at the bottle.
"DUDE! This is an 85-year-old single barrel scotch!"
     "Yes...?"
"This things worth more than my freakin TRUCK! Like three times over! How the hell did you get this?"
"Stop making that face, it is ghastly. Father sends them to me as gifts. He responded nonchalantly.
"A boy's got to have some fun you know." He mocked in a fatherly tone waving a single finger and puffing out his chest.

Kevin glanced back at the shelf. "So, mind me asking why they're all still sealed?"
     "Your plate is becoming cold."
Holding his ground Kevin darkened his tone. "Spill double dweeb." It was that calm burning tone from adolescence that still sent a chill up his spine. He sighed defeated
"If I indulge you. Will you sit?"
"Sure." With his free hang Eddward grasped the pill bottle and with a slick of his wrist gently flung it at Kevin. The spirited boys muscles flexed snatching it mid air before he even realized it. Eyes knitting in concern as he read the label as a question " Vicodin?"
"We had an agreement Kevin." Reluctantly he sat down placing the bottle in the table.
"So what's the deal?" Kevin took a bite of the vegetables and almost horked chocking on how nasty this shit was. He pounded his cheats forcing himself to swallow. Magically a water glass appeared in front of him. He chugged it.
"Feel better?" Eddward queried; failing to stifle a smile.
"Yea." He gasped out. "You haven't answered me yet. Edward propped his elbow on the table, chin in hand and sighed while tilting to the side.
"Well"- he paused- "according to Eddy mind altering substances seem to produce many 'strange' effects. Something about spooning victor in a wig." Kevin snorted. Eddward eyed him then ho-hun sighed.
"Not that I retain any recollection of said events. It is due to my I.Q. "
"But the lake. I saw you drinking."
"Non-alcoholic; just because I do not partake does not mean I can not enjoy the revelry."
"You must be in major pain. Is that why you haven't takin any of these?" Questioned the ginger sorrowfully.
"Indeed." Intimidation and urgency in his voice. Still fully concerned. "Take some."
"Pardon?" The exorbitant size of Kevin abruptly became apparent to Eddward as Kevin stood eclipsing him. Animalistic magnetism of his square jaw, to the supple contours of his muscles. Much like a beast ready to pounce.
"You've gotta take some if your hurt'in that much."
"As I have previously explained. I am unable to."
Now standing in front of him, leaning with in a foot of him. Voice firm. "You've got two choices right now. You can either take-'em willingly; or I pin your ass to the ground and force feed you." His deep green eyes were unwavering, body ready to tackle at the slightest move of escape. Instantaneously calculating the scenario, he unwillingly coincided.
"Only on one condition. You will stay the evening over and observe me for safety." Kevin whipped out his phone, sent a text, then put it away. "Done." He said affirmatively. Then popped open the bottle giving Eddward two white pills.
"Make sure you take them or I'll shove'em down your throat."
