"I'll wait outside!" I heard him say before he left to wait for me down at the entrance.

I slipped into my deep blue jeans again, picked out a fitting, long-sleeved shirt since it would get a bit chilly late in the night although the weather was still warm at the moment. I pulled up my hair to a ponytail, dabbed some lipgloss on my lips, some mascara on my eyelashes, then I left the room in Vans.

Jay was sitting on his bike, just waiting, when I finally got down. He looked up at me and reached out for my hand. Tiny sparks of fire seemed to go off inside my chest when he held my hand and pulled me towards him. After a long look at my face that made my heart race, he reached behind my head and gently pulled out the hairband that was holding my hair together, letting the strands fall over my back, leaving me undone.

He put the hairband in the back pocket of his jeans and fitted a helmet over my head.

"Would this make you feel better?" He asked as he strapped it beneath my chin.

Amused at how bad I'd screamed the other day, I smiled at him. "Much better. Thanks."

Jerking his head to the side, he signaled me to hop on. But first, I made sure I knock some sense in him so that I don't die very early. I liked to believe I still had many years to be alive and achieve my dreams, my life goals.
