eddie woke up with a jolt. "bad dreams?" his friend collins, asked him. eddie nodded.

bill rushed into the dorm. "g-guh-guh-guys!" he exclaimed. eddie furrowed his eyes in confusion. "buh- betty ripsom, from hufflepuff, went muh-missing!" bill finished. "oh my god." exclaimed eddie. collins gave a look of confusion. "my uncle said this school is a kid trap," he murmered. "every few decades,a load of kids go missing." realisation hit bill and eddie. IT.

bill, eddie and beverly sat in the library. "we have to lure it to us." beverly said. "yeah, but we need more people, it's too dangerous to do it on our own." eddie replied. bill nodded. "that's why i asked the-them to come here." bill added. eddie turned his head to see mike, ben, stanley and richie enter the library. eddie's heart sank as he saw the upset look on richie's face as he met his eyes. richie quickly looked away, before sitting at the table with the others. "okay, well do they know about it." inquired beverly. bill nodded. "ruh-richie, ben and muh-mike know, stanley saw it." he stuttered. everyone's eyes darted to the quiet ravenclaw. "yeah," he said. "i saw the clown the other day in the broom closet."

"we need to divise a plan." bill said. "the first years are allowed at the yule ball this year, so that's gonna be a clown magnet." beverly added. eddie gave beverly a look of confusion. "i thought only fourth years could go?" beverly shook her head. "no, first years can go this year." she replied. eddie shrugged. perhaps he would get to dance with richie.

"okay, so at the yule ball if we see it, what do we do?" asked mike. ben opened his book. "it says here that you have to perform a spell on it to get it to go away, but you have to lead it into the forbidden forrest." ben added. "what spell?" asked richie. "i think it's called riddikulus."

everyone nodded. "okay, so at the yule ball we have to lure it out." bill said. everyone agreed.

what they didn't know is that the night of the yule ball would be a night they'd remember forever.
