Megalodons existed from 23,000,000 years ago to just 3,200,00 million years ago. They lived in warm, tropical areas and their main diet consisted of large whales and Dolphins that existed during the times it was alive. Scientists say that the main reason that they went extinct is because of cooling sea temperatures. It's main food source travelled up north but because the Megalodon was a shark it meant that it was cold-blooded. However some people believe that it could exist. I myself, I'm torn on the topic. I understand that it's main food source had travelled up north but they could easily feed on large creatures in the deep, dark sea like Sperm whales and giant/colossal squid.
