Freya was a bit concerned about her niece. She didn't know what to do. She did go and inform Davina and Hope about the magic but didn't tell them anything specific. All she told them was that if they feel a flux in magic to not freak out or stop it. It isn't going to harm anyone. Then she walked away. Davina and Hope assumed it was her doing the magic, but it wasn't, not that they'd know that.
Freya went to the library to think, she was also hoping that Niklaus would be in there. To her luck, he was.
"Hey, Nik, got a minute?" Freya asked him.
"Yeah what's up?" Nik said, marking his place in the book he was reading.
"Thea asked me a question that has me a little concerned," Freya told him.
Niklaus sat up, listening intently now, "What did she ask?"
"She asked if other witches could sense when magic was being used. I told her that it is possible and explained some differences. I then asked her why she was asking," Freya told him.
"She told me that she was going to be performing a spell that would keep sounds from inside her bedroom being heard outside. I then asked her if there was a reason for it, to which she explained that she gets nightmares from time to time, which results in her waking up screaming. She told me that she has had them for a while and knows how to deal with them. I just can't help but feel like some of that is not true, and it makes me feel worried about her," Freya finished.
"Has she said if she performed the spell before?" Niklaus asks.
"Yeah, she said she did it when she shared a cabin with 13 other people," Freya answered.
"I don't think there is anything we can really do, except wait for her to do the spell and see if it actually keeps all the sounds in. If she needs us, hopefully, she will feel comfortable enough with us to come to talk to someone about it," Niklaus told his older sister.
Freya nodded, "Yeah, thanks Nik," she said and then she got up and left him alone, heading back to her room.
Freya was sitting in her bed, trying to think of a way to help her niece, when an idea came to her. She got up and ran back to Niklaus. He was still in the library, even after a few hours, "Nik, I have an idea," Freya said, rushing up to her brother.
"An idea for what?" he asks her, confused.
"Thea's nightmare issue," Freya said, "Because I know she's not being honest about how they affect her."
"Okay, what did you think of?" Niklaus replied, eager to help his daughter.
"I thought of three things, one that I prevent her silencing spell from working, a spell that would alert us if she starts to have a nightmare or a spell that would take us into her nightmares when she has one," Freya suggested.
Niklaus thought about it for a few minutes, then he said, "Why don't you cast a spell that would alert us when she has a nightmare. I want to give her a chance to tell us about her nightmares on her own first. If, after a month or two, she hasn't, we can do the other option where we enter her nightmares with her."
"That seems fair. I can charm a bracelet or something to heat up when she has a nightmare. There is also the chance that we still manage to hear her, depending on what spell she plans to use," Freya said, as a side note.
"Hmm. That's a good point, she'd have to use a different spell than the one she is used to, since we all have enhanced hearing," Niklaus agrees.
Freya nodded. "I'll still enchant something to alert us when she has a nightmare," Freya said, getting up and heading back to her room to create said objects.
