Simple Words: A 30-day Lyrical Project
Think of a song, any song. How about your favorite song? Think about it in your head. You could probably hum the melody, you know each beat, you’ve memorized every lyric, but why do you like that particular song so much? Do the lyrics have a special meaning to you? Well guess what. Those exact same lyrics probably mean something completely different to someone else. That’s exactly what this “project” is about.
Noelle ( @DyingtoShoutout ) and I have partnered up for the next 30 days. We found the 30 Day Song Challenge online and it inspired us! Each day, we’ll be following the rules of the Song challenge, choosing a Song each day, but instead of just talking about the Song, we’re using it to write. Each day, we’ll both choose a Song and write a short story or one shot based on certain “trigger words” in the Song. Enjoy :)
PS- It’s also NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, and since I don’t have time to write a 50,000 word novel, writing a collection of stories is the next best thing :)

Day 12 – A song from a band you hate
Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure
Day 14 – A song that no one would expect you to love
Day 15 – A song that describes you
Day 16 – A song that you used to love but now hate
Day 17 – A song that you hear often on the radio
Day 18 – A song that you wish you heard on the radio
Day 19 – A song from your favorite album
Day 20 – A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Day 21 – A song that you listen to when you’re happy
Day 22 – A song that you listen to when you’re sad
Day 23 – A song that you want to play at your wedding
Day 24 – A song that you want to play at your funeral
Day 25 – A song that makes you laugh
Day 26 – A song that you can play on an instrument
Day 27 – A song that you wish you could play
Day 28 – A song that makes you feel guilty
Day 29 – A song from your childhood
Day 30 – Your favorite song at this time last year
(Also, just in case I get super busy with school work, I'm personallly allowing myself three "free days" where if I don't have time to write, I'm allowed to skip. If I go over three, I will eventually post the stories even after the 30 days are up! )
