Eternal Struggle

"Adrianna! You promised you wouldn't fall asleep!" She groans.

I smile and force my eyes open. "Right, I'm sorry Naomi. I'll stay awake." I tried to keep my eyes glued on the TV as Danny from Grease sung the hit song 'Grease Lightening'. But my eyes soon began to fail me. My head was resting on Naomi's legs and she was so warm. I could smell her aloe lotion and her sweet vanilla perfume. A scent that I have associated with the word 'home'.

I feel her body shake as she giggled. "You're falling asleep again, sis." She says softly, running her fingers through my hair.

"I'm sorry..." I mumble.

She sighs happily and continues to rub my head. "It's okay. Rest now. I'm here with you, Adri."

For some reason, tears start falling from my eyes. "Naomi...I-I'm s-scared....I don't w-want to f-face a w-world w-where y-you're not in it." I clutch her tightly. 

She runs her fingers, gently along my cheek. "Aw. Honey." I feel her lips gently touch my forehead. I close my eyes and relish the moment. "Adri. I know you're facing a lot of darkness right now. It may look like there's no hope. But you can do this. Don't let those jackasses win!"

I pout. "B-but how?" 

I suddenly feel her pulling me up to look at her and for what seemed like forever, I see her face. Her big brown eyes and her soft pink lips. My sister. My best friend. She holds my face in her hands and rubs her nose against mine. "You are my ride and die girl. What did I always used to tell you, Adri?"

I sniff and smile. "Get your big hoops on bitch, cuz-"

"Cuz this ain't big hoop attitude!" We both say at the same time. We both laugh. 

"Exactly." She says, wiping my eyes. "Even when you feel like you're alone, I'm always in here," She points to my heart, "And here," and she points to my head. 

I begin to cry again and I hug her tightly. "I m-miss you Nai. So much." 

She doesn't break the hug when shes says, "I miss you too, Adri. I always will." Then she pulls away and wipes my eyes again. "Now here comes the hard part." She holds my shoulders. 

"I need you to wake up, Adri." 

My eyes widen. "N-no! Not y-yet!" 

She nods. "Yes. I need you to wake up and survive. You can do this girl!" She says smiling. 

Suddenly I start floating back from her. I reach out to grab her. "Naomi!" 

Suddenly everything is pitch black.

"Oh, and Adrianna."  

I feel the darkness begin to swallow me. 

"Remember..."

I begin to choke on the darkness.

"I love you."

"Naomi!" I shout, sitting up. 

"Woah. Relax, Adrianna!" I hear a voice from behind say. 

I quickly turn around and see Taehyung sitting on the couch, watching me with an amused smile.
