"Welcome to ECON everyone. I'm Susan and I'm going to be your teacher for this class. I hope everyone's ready to learn the basics of economics."
I don't have a straight plan of what I want to do in my life, but I know I'm going to need to study economics if I ever want to be successful in the near future. Man, I really need to get my shit together. My hand is already tired of typing all of this information on my new shiny laptop. I can tell I'm going to get tired of this class easily. I've never been someone who's perfect at focusing in class, but when I want something, I don't let it go too easily, and I know I want a good future for myself. UCLA is cool, I guess, but I really need to find an apartment around here. The dorms are a decent size but what really pisses me off is the communal showers. I hate them so much, just the idea of the weird floors and the small showers makes me want to puke. Today I'm going to look at apartments close to campus. My dad's paying my tuition so I can pay for the apartment with the money I made these last 2 summers from little jobs here and there and use the dorm money as well.

Today's the first Friday of college and there's already a party planned for tomorrow night at some random guy's apartment tonight. I'm planning on going even though I haven't been to many. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy parties but I'm not one of those typical guys who fucks every girl they see, but I occasionally have a hookup or two. My friends are complete man-whores and that pisses me off. I don't know how they're going to react when I finally get a girlfriend.

When class ends I get up and head to my dorm and leave my shit on my bed. I share this average-sized room with my friend Ryan. I don't even know why he came to college because he skips class most of the time. I bet it's just for the parties, the booze, and sex. He's cool but always has a girl with him wherever he goes, and I'm not surprised he has one right now.

"Yo Scott, this is Mary," He says, introducing me to a girl with purple hair and a bikini as clothes.

"Hi, Mary, sorry but I've got to go," I say and leave the door.

I get in my BMW and head to the few apartment tours I have planned for today. They're all average or bad except for the last one. I really like the big windows showing the breathtaking view of LA. It's a top floor apartment with huge windows, a nice kitchen with marble countertops, a bathroom with a big shower and two sinks, and a big bedroom with a huge closet and the same sized windows as the living room. I love it and I get the papers signed ASAP. The apartment will be ready for me to move into tomorrow. I head back to the dorm, shower in the disgusting showers, and start to pack my stuff. I don't have that many things but the apartment comes furnished so it's perfect. I get some sleep because tomorrow's going to be a full day.

"Welcome to ECON everyone. I'm Susan and I'm going to be your teacher for this class. I hope everyone's ready to learn the basics of economics." My ECON teacher says at the start of class. She seems nice but I can tell she's going to give us a lot of work. After a while, she asks us to pull out our laptops and gives us information to take notes on. I knew it. I can focus pretty well in class and I was really good at note-taking in middle school and high school. That's a very good thing since I know I want to work at a publishing company but for that, I need to study ECON so that's the only reason why I'm in this class. I don't know if a publishing company would ever accept me but I do know I would be perfect for the job. I love reading and I can take very good notes about stories. I feel like I would be a good employee and my boss would love me.

UCLA is nice but the communal showers are disgusting. Who even invented that? I'd rather shower there than not shower at all but I would really prefer to live in an apartment, especially since LA is so pretty. I would love to have my own living room, kitchen, bedroom, and obviously bathroom. I can just imagine the view I could see every morning and every night from one of those top floor apartments. I think I'll call my mom later and ask her if we can use the dorm money and the rest of my savings to help me rent a nice apartment.

When class ends I go back to my down, shower, and go on my phone for a bit. I'm so thankful that I don't have any work to do tonight. I scroll through Instagram as I listen to some music. My roommate Lisa is nice but she's always on a call with her boyfriend so the music serves as a distraction. There's already a party tomorrow night and I plan on hooking up with some cute guy to distract me from the confusingness of college. From what I've seen so far around here, there are some pretty good-looking guys. The party is at this guy's apartment, I don't know who he is but everyone is invited so I might as well go and have some fun.

When Lisa is finally off the phone, I stop my music, turn off my phone screen and turn off my lamp so I can sleep.
