CHAPTER TWO
______________________________
JULIE'S POV
Theo and I spent more than 30 minutes taking a tour around WHA. We decided to stop at the cafeteria. I remembered how the cafeteria looked glamourous on their website, and how great the food variety is. It's true, I felt like I was entering a 5-star restaurant, excluding the table reservations and special menus though.
I just had a milkshake and Theo had a Japanese teriyaki burger. Theo was amazingly silent the whole time we were waiting for our food, as if he wanted to ask me something he can't.
He started to take a bite from his teriyaki burger. That's when he also started to break the ice.
"So...what do you like?"
"Huh?" I replied with an annoyed tone.
"I mean...uh, this is difficult." I know he's trying to get things out of me but what he just said sounded a bit annoying.
"Okay." I took a sip from my milkshake and started talking. "First of all, I only transferred because of travelling problems and I'm from an all-girls school 'cause I easily get ticked off by boys."
I gave him a look in the eye but instead, he smiled, as if he found a weak spot.
"Easily ticked off by boys ehhh......then why did you come with me?"
Bull's eye. I almost choked on my milkshake. I stood up from my seat and angrily slammed the table.
"Well excuse me sir! You were the one who had this nice idea of taking me around here and I was just nicely agreeing to it!"
THEO'S POV
"First of all, I only transferred because of travelling problems and I'm from an all-girls school 'cause I easily get ticked off by boys."
Gets ticked off by boys? She gave me an evil eye, it makes me want to tease her. Just a little bit...
"Easily ticked off by boys ehhh......then why did you come with me?"
The moment I said that, she stood up and I felt like having a second thought about teasing her. She started blabbing things out from her cherry-colored lips. I admit, she looks so cute.
"...I was just nicely agreeing to it!"
"Me too" I said out of nowhere.
Just when I was about to come back to my senses, she slammed the table and walked away.
"J-Julie?" I tried to call her back but she was ignoring me. I guess teasing made her mood really bad. I decided to let her cool down. After eating my so-awesome burger, I went to the office.
Why, you ask?
My father is Ricardo Venza Winkler, the founder and current president of WHA. My parents are, let's say, not on good terms and I'm using my father's middle name because he doesn't want me to get spoiled for attending a school he owns. It's kept a secret that I'm his son.
He told me about Julie. He told me that his friend's daughter is going to transfer and I should give her some "welcoming remarks".
I did NOT volunteer for it. I was FORCED to do it. Saying, I should be "good friends with her since she's the only girl in the school who's our neighbor". I was trying to keep up the friendliest image I could give her. But I think being unnatural is not really good.
I knocked on the office door before entering. I saw my dad inside, working on papers.
"Did you meet her already?"
"Yeah. She's one heck of a girl."
"Hahaha! That's why she previously attended an all-girls school. When her dad told me about this boy-thing about her, I suggested transferring here."
"What good would she get from transferring here??"
"Have some sympathy, Theo. Palren is a rich family and besides, don't you want to have a new friend?"
"I'm going back." I turned my back and left the office.
~
"Heeey! You've been in the office a lot recently. What's up?"
It was Paul. 3 years older than me. He always wants to know "what's up". It's like it has been his catch-up phrase. In fact, he's the only person in the school who knows that the president is my dad.
"He wants me to take care of the new girl in my class."
"Who, Julie?"
"Wha- Ho- Y-you know her?!" I stuttered. How come Paul knows about her?!... WAIT. I continued before he said anything.
"WAIT. Of course, you know. You know everything. Literally."
Paul bursted out laughing.
"I love how you look so high of me! But that's not the reason. I already knew Julie years ago. She was my childhood friend."
JULIE'S POV
That Theo guy was so annoying. I'll wreck that stupid look on his face if I could. How dare he!
I don't have time for boys. Especially ones like him. I felt my phone vibrate as I was sitting on my chair.
