Girls Night Out

After April first passed by, we all fell into work and buried ourselves under brick-loads of files and documents. The fun had indeed died down a bit since work had gotten even harder on us and we were all pretty stressed out for several weeks. Matty had to bear the greater brunt of the whole thing and instead of dropping me home like he usually did, I had to walk home alone. Eden accompanied me home a few times but since her house was in another direction, we had to part ways, eventually. Overall, the passed few days were rather dull and lonely.

"The 'B' man needs that data by tomorrow, Camille. You've delayed it by two days already!" said Matty, appearing behind me. I was sitting at my desk, typing out the required data when he arrived.

Turning in my chair, I groaned and said, "I know, Matty! But it's not that easy and he wants it two days after he told me about it! Does he think I'm a robot or something?"

"Hey, hey..." soothes Matty, turning the chair around and massaging my shoulders. "You're doing fine. Just loosen up a bit and cope with the stress."

"How is that even possible?" I ask with a sigh, melting at his touch. This massaging trick that he's doing is really working for me.

"Beats me." shrugs Matty and releases my shoulders. "Just get to work."

"Gee, thanks for your phenomenal advice!" I utter sarcastically. Matty gives me a thumbs up before dissapearing back into his cubicle.

An hour or so later, Eden appeared beside me with some documents in hand. She looked tall, elegant and thin, like always. Her blonde hair was tied in a pony tail and her fringe fell over her face unashamedly. The only difference in her a visage were the dark rings under her eyes.

"Reappraise these," she says, shoving the documents onto my desk. She turned on her heels to leave but then stopped in her tracks and turned around to face me."You busy Saturday night?"

"Um, no. Not paticularly." I say, giving her an inquisitive look.

"Great. I'll pick you up at eight-thirty." she says with a smile and turned to leave but I stopped her with my question.

"Pick me up? For what?"

"A girls night out!"

"Your the only girl know..." I say with an unhinged look. "Unless your calling Mrs Hampha!"

"Who's Mrs Hampha? " catechized Eden. "And that's why I'm taking you out. You spend half your time at work, the rest half with Matty and a very teeny bit with actual girls. I'm taking you out so you can socialize and show off those curves."

"Firstly, I don't spent half of my time with Matty. I'm stuck with you too." I say with an exasperated sigh. "And secondly, I have no curves!"

"Whatevs! Pick you up at eight-thirty!" she says with one last huff, and walks away into the crowd. I sigh dramatically.

I guess I'll be hanging out with some strangers tonight.

"I can't believe you're not dressed yet!" groans Eden, giving me a glare. She rang the door bell at precisely eight-thirty, when I was watching House. I'm really obssessed with that show, so it's understandable why I didn't dress up and why I was minutely annoyed with Eden's arrival.

"I was busy!" I whine, as Eden pushed her way into my house.

"Busy? With what?"

"House." I getsure to the T.V.

"That doctor show?" she asks, uninterested.

"Not just any doctor show! Doctor Gregory House!" I retort, hurt. No one and I mean, no one insults House.
