8 a.m, Laura had her breakfast quietly in a breakfast hall of hotel with various bread and cake she put on her plate. She sat on the table faced the glass window with a view of the hotel’s yard. There were many people around her either having breakfast, too, or scanning the foods aisle. She didn’t pay much attention. Then, someone stood in front of her, blocking the greenish view, asking if the chair was available. He was so tall that she had a hard time looked up at him although he himself had bent his upper body a bit.
She nodded and said yes while her mouth was still chewing, looked unsophisticated but she didn’t care.

He pulled the chair and sat, quietly had his breakfast, too

He pulled the chair and sat, quietly had his breakfast, too. Unlike her, he had a big plate of noodle and assorted vegetables. She finished hers faster than he did, then she got up and left. Few minutes later she stopped at the exit door, tugged the end of her unicorn shirt and bit her lower lip with slight annoyed expression as if she just remembered something. She left her phone on the table. She sighed, hobbled back there and took it. The guy still sat there having his breakfast alone. On his white shirt he looked like a figure came straight out of a manga drawing with the wide glass window frame and beautiful scenery behind him. He glanced at her but said nothing.
She should just stay quiet after the recovery treatment for her injury, instead of taking dance class and sprained her ankles again. The fact that she was actually closer to get complete recovery but now her chance decreased again made her mad. She decided to just live carelessly today. She ran from her home and splurged her parents’ hard earned money to stay in this luxurious hotel.
After breakfast she went to look around. She walked along the hotel back yard where there was vast open space. It was windy land, there were bumps here and there with various attractions. She could just walk up using the concrete stairs to reach them but she was too lazy to do it. She just walked along the flat pavement path, passed the swimming pool with its clear blue water. Too bad she didn’t bring her swimsuit.

The path led her to a quiet private beach hidden behind the lush bushes

The path led her to a quiet private beach hidden behind the lush bushes. There was no one there but her, palm trees, and faint sound of waves against sandy beach. The sun warmed her body and it made her shivered. She sat at one of the wooden swings after walking along the beach. Her bare feet stained with beach crumbs. She soaked herself with morning sun, absorbed all the energy to make her feeling good and alive again. It was futile. The problem was not in her physical body, it laid on her mind. She was as desperate as she was. She felt so useless.
Should she just end her life here? There was no one here that knew who she was. They would just call her body as miss x then dumped it somewhere to cremate or being some research object. She didn’t really care. If she died she might reunite with her late boyfriend and she could explain to him why she lived a year longer than he did. She lived unhappy life herself, there was nothing to envy.
Once she dipped her feet into the sea water she shivered. The warmth she felt from the sun got her body startled from the sudden cold she got from the water. Oh, the contrast temperature. It’s perfect. She thought. She would just die in this cold water, thing she hated a lot. Then she walked further and further until the water level reached her neck, and fully drown there.
She got deeper… deeper… and…
A soft but firm grip caught her, wrapped her waist and pulled her. For a moment she felt so peaceful. Was it the hand of the death angel? How fast it was to catch up her soul to the afterlife? She felt her body float up slowly and lightly. Then blinding light blocked her sight. As she covered her face with her palm she realized that her head was above the water.
