The kiss lasted for what felt like forever. My anxiety overwhelmed me and I pulled back blushing super hard and I looked down. He could tell I was scared so he backed up a bit. I wasn't scared kissing him, I've kissed many guys before, I was scared of what my mother might do, she warned me. My mother is super inhuman, so I'm unsure of what will cross her mind.
"I'm sorry." I said at last.
"No I'm sorry I shouldn't of done that." He said.
"The kiss was ok, amazing actually, my anxiety overwhelmed me is all." I replied.
"Oh..." He said in response.
My door flung open and I saw my little sister, Cassie, standing there crying. It looked as if she had a nightmare or a future-telling dream. One of Cassie's powers is that she can see the future. At this point, she mostly dreams the future and it really scares her.
"Oh Cassie, come here baby." I say to her.
She runs over to me and crawls onto my bed. She flings herself into my arms sobbing. A few seconds pass and I ask Derek to go close the door, so she doesn't wake anyone else up. He does so and sits back down next to me. I'm very exhausted at this point. So I lay Cassie down onto my bed next to me. I lay down and Derek gets up to leave, but I grab his arm and pull him next to me. I pull the blanket over the three of us and cuddle up to Cassie til she falls asleep. I turn and lay my head onto Derek's chest again and fall fast asleep.
I'm awaken at about 7:30AM by Cassie shaking me. I open my eyes and realize I'm still laying on top of Derek. I turn to look at Cassie, waking Derek up in the process.
"Sissy it's morning, see, see!" She says loudly.
"I see." Mumbling to her while pulling her close to me to get her to go back to sleep. I feel the bed shift and see Derek walk by in front of me.
"Good morning." I mumble to him.
"Morning." He whispers back.
Cassie is pulling away from me again and I finally sit up. It's almost 7:45AM now and I had a lot to do today. Cassie jumps off of the bed and runs into my bathroom. I rub my eyes and get off of the bed and look at myself in the full body mirror. My hair was a mess and I had slight bags under my eyes. Cassie runs out of the bathroom and flings herself into my arms. One power Cassie and I share is super speed, so she's always running around me. I hold her in my arms as I pick out my outfit for the day. I pick out this tie dye tank top that says babe and a pair of blue jean shorts.
"Ok Cassie, go play with Elliot so I can shower and get ready." I say to her.
"Ok!" She says as she dashed out the door closing it behind her.
I grab my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash out of my bathroom box and go warm up the shower. I take my shower and step out wrapping a light purple towel around me. I step out back into my room to grab my toothbrush and toothpaste and I see Derek laying on my bed.
"Hey..." I say.
"Hi, sorry I was just waiting for you to get out. I brought up a few more of your boxes." He states.
"Oh thank you," I say, "I'll be out in a bit if you want to wait there."
"Take your time." He says.
I grab my toothbrush, toothpaste, hairdryer, hairbrush, deodorant, and clothes all while trying to keep my towel up. I walk back into the bathroom and shut the door behind me. I take a few deep breathes, then I start drying myself off. I put on my clothes and brush my hair and tie it back into a sleek ponytail. My mother always says, "Hair in your face makes you vulnerable, so keep it tied back." I step out of the bathroom and Derek stares at me in awe.
"Heh what?" I ask.
"Nothing, you just look beautiful." He says.
"Oh thank you." I say while blushing.
"O-of course, so um you ready to go get more boxes?" He asks.
"Yeah, lets go." I respond.
We both head down the stairs and into the garage. We each carry two boxes up at a time and after only twenty minutes we got all my boxes up. So we decided to carry Cassie and Elliot's boxes up as well. After doing so, we both head back into my room. I open up the boxes that say clothes and Derek and I start putting them in the dresser and closet.
"Thank you so much for helping me." I say.
"Of course, it's the least I could do." He responds.
"Since I first got here, you've been nothing but kind to me, thank you for that." I say while grinning.
"Of course, you seemed like a very friendly person and I wanted to give a good first impression." He states.
We both smile deeply at each other for a few seconds when my door opens and I see my mother standing there. She is frowning and clearly upset at the fact that he's in my bedroom.
"Um maybe I should go..." He says breaking the silence.
"That's a good idea," My mother says angrily, "You and me need to talk missy."
"Um I'll talk to you later Sierra." He says leaving.
My mother walks next to him escorting him out the door. She nearly slams the door shut right behind him. She walks over to me and sits next to me on the bed. She still have an angry expression on her face.
"Sierra we need to talk." She says at last.
"Yes ma'am." I say.
"Sierra no more of this crap. You are a villain let alone a Castor villain. Falling in love makes you weak. Crying over him makes you weak. You are supposed to be the new strongest member, that's what we were training you for. So cut it with the crap, get out of this no killing stage you're in and grow up! I know you are stronger than this Sierra." She shouts at me angrily.
"Yes ma'am." I say.
"This weekend we are going on a trip. A villain trip. I expect you to go and I expect you to be strong. No excuses!" She shouts.
"Yes ma'am." I say.
"Good now put your weapons on the top of your closet please." She says walking out the door.
I'm so conflicted. I love fighting people it makes me feel free, but I have this feeling that I need to stop and follow my heart. If I choose my heart over my mission, I don't know what my mother would do to me. She doesn't treat me like her kid, she doesn't treat any of us like her kids. This is why I'm so scared to do anything. I just need this suffering to end.
