This is a fanfic about the song, when I met you. There will be crying in said fanfic, beware.

        You were sitting on your bed a ukulele in your hands. You had been writing a song for the past 3 hours. Your fingers were tired, but you finished it wanted to hear it. You hadn't sung it yet, just played the cords. Little did you know Steve had been standing outside of your door for the past 3 hours. He had came to apologize but once he heard the ukulele he didn't want to ruin it so he was waiting for you to be done.
        You see you and Steve used to be best freinds, you guys were like the ying and yang. But when Bucky showed up he spent all his time with Bucky, which you were okay with. But he promised if you ever needed him he would be there. One night you had a nightmare. You needed him. So you went to his room crying. And when you knocked on the door he opened it and you told him you needed him. His response was that him and Bucky were busy playing video games.
       After that you avoided him, for weeks you left the room when he entered. You wouldnt train with him and Bucky and you shut him out. One night he got mad once you got up to leave. " GOD DAMNIT [Y/N]! Would you stop leaving when I come in?!?! What is your problem?!?". The avengers stayed quiet. You had stayed quiet but this was your breaking point. You turned to him and looked at him in the eye. Tears were streaming down your face, you chest felt tight like you couldn't breath. You kept your voice calm and quiet but was shaking along with your body, "No, Steve I will not. You wanna know what my problem is? Huh? I needed you. And you dissed me off to play video games. I understand you spending all your time with Bucky, he's your best freind. I understand you wanting to have something of your old life, I understand because I was the one who held you when you cried. I was the one who had cared for you when you had a nightmare. Me! But when I needed you, when I was crying at your doorstep you chose to play video games". You lost your cool and started yelling. "You PROMISED me! If I EVER needed you, you would be there!". You lowered your voice again, "so I'm done. I'm done with you."
        He looked shocked and the avengers looked mad. They were glaring at him. Bucky looked guilty. You were shaking violently. "I can't anymore" your voice broke and a sob filled the room. You hurried off to your room hearing a "you are a fucking asshole you know that right? He never cries". That's  when you started to write the song.
       You fiddled with the pages of the song. You took a deep breath. And began to sing.

       His breathing hitched when he heard you shaking voice singing. His eyes teared up, you sounded so broken. He rested his hand flat on the door.

       Tears streamed down both of your faces. His heart ached. His throat felt as if it was closing. What had he done? He hurt the one person who was always there for him.

It's the same old sad refrain

You took me by surprise, your eyes were all mine only

       Now your voice was breaking but in a way that made the song more beautiful. Your hand was hitting the strings a little to hard. Then the last lyric of the song came out in a sob. You couldn't hold it in anymore.

       Sobs broke through your chest. You put the ukulele aside. And leaned forward. You were sitting cris cross apple sauce, you leaned your chest against the mattress. You were gasping for air but you couldn't. Your hid your face in the mattress. You held yourself as more sobs left your mouth.
        Steve was outside your door, shock on his face. You were in love with him. How could he have not seen this before? A quiet scream from your mouth brought him back to reality. You opened the door without knocking but you didn't notice. You couldn't hear him shut the door and walk over.
       You didn't even notice when he sat on the bed across from you. He softly laid his hand on your shoulder making you jump. You looked up but you couldn't see through he tears in your eyes. You knew it was him though, you would recognize that face anywhere. You couldn't see it but his face turned into one of pain once he saw yours. He was crying silently.
       "Come here, it's okay, I'm here". The anger you felt for him didn't matter at this point, you would do anything to stop the pain in your chest. You unraveled your legs and hugged him, you hid your face in his neck. He lifted you so you were sitting in his lap. You straddled his hips. On other circumstances you would be blushing but that wasnt on your mind.
        You pressed your body against his, your arms tight around his neck. He hugged your torso just as tight. "Its okay, I'm here, I'm never letting you go again, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry [Y/N]". Your breathing calmed at his words. You took a deep breath finally being able to breathe. You sobs got smaller and smaller everytime they left until they were just sniffles and deep breaths.
       Once you could think properly you realized what position you were in. You pulled away, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" you were cut off by a pair of salty lips. You froze for a second before slowly kissing back. His lips were soft and gentle. His hands were on the lower of your back as he pulled you closer to his body again. The kiss ended and your foreheads rested against eachother. "I'm in love with you too and I am so sorry" he whispered. "Its okay, you're just gonna have to make it up to me". He let out a chuckle, "and how would you like me to do that"? "Cuddles, lots and lots of cuddles". "Wanna start now?", "yes". You lean back and wipe the tears from his face. "Does this mean you're my boyfriend because if so I've got a hot boyfriend". Steve blushed, "along as you're mine". "Deal captain". His eyes darkened and his eyebrows raised. "Oh you're gonna pay for that". You giggled as he kissed you again pushing your back against the mattress.
