The abortion debate can be reduced to a single fundamental question: is the killing of a fetus considered murder? I don't think so.It is scientific fact that all life begins at conception but a life of a fetus that is under 24 weeks old is just as meaningless as a housefly's because up until that point, the fetus doesn't have a fucking conscience. It may be on its way to developing into a human being but without a functioning brain, it is technically a living parasite sharing the same heartbeat as its mom, so if you believe that abortion after 24 weeks of gestation is murder then applying that same logic; killing insects, coronavirus, and any other "living" organism must be too. However, abortion after 24 weeks is in fact murder because by then, the fetus has become sentient and is in every sense of the word, a human being so I advocate for a 24 week limit.
With that being said here's message for all of you pro lifers, or should I say pro-forced-birth-ers: stop guilt tripping women into giving birth when they aren't prepared for motherhood!!! If a woman is under circumstances where she cannot ensure that she can fulfill her maternal duty of providing the best quality of life for her child, then isn't the most rational decision for the sake of both of their futures is to terminate the child before it's too late and gets birthed as a unwanted baby? Every woman should have the right to reproduce whenever she feels ready to raise a child, forcing her to give birth before she is ready to do so violates her fundamental human right to bodily autonomy and even worse, enslaves both her and the child into a permanently bad situation that neither was prepared to deal with in the first place. Since you didn't take part in conceiving their child, what they decide to do with it is none of your concern. The father (unless if he raped the mother ofc) is literally the only other person entitled to discuss with the mother on what to do with their own child, but since the baby is inside the mother's body, she should have the final say on whether or not she wants to give birth even if her choice goes against the father's wishes.
Side note: Whether you are pro life or pro choice we all need to advocate for free universal health care or at the very least; more affordable contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies from taking place in the future. We also need to start reforming the foster care system so that it is easier to adopt; children in adoption centers will always matter more than the lives of undeveloped cells and if you disagree then I'm convinced that you lack basic human empathy. Expend your energy on making sure that every single one of them gets sent into a loving family rather than forcing women to give birth every time they become pregnant.
