3rd Person POV
Icy wind slashed at her face and the rain danced its evil dance upon her head as she tried to get her bearings on the isolated forest. Lightning came, a brilliant shock of white in the graphite sky, forking silently to the unsuspecting ground - the thunderous boom called its warning too late. She wandered around the eerie landscape, trees around her looking like vivid green umbrellas failing at its job to protect her from the droplets of water. She trudged through the dark brown mud on the ground, coating her sneakers in a hazel hue. Her heart pounded in her chest and the hairs on her arms stood to attention, as a militia of chills ran down her spine.
She didn't know why she was there, what had brought her there. Here in this unknown sinister and ghostly topography. All she knew was: she was terrified to the bone and the rain wasn't making it any less scary.
Suddenly, an forbidding cry sounded.
What was that? She followed the sound as it seemed familiar to her. The branches beneath her feet seized her ankles as she followed the ear-piercing shriek.
She walked and walked, her legs slowly losing strength and giving way beneath her.
Until she came across a scarring sight... something traumatising...
Her eyes fell upon the sight of an older woman lying lifeless on the floor, red liquid coating her whole body. Her eyes widened in shock as it teared up almost blurring her vision. She ran to her and immediately started balling her eyes out. She knew who this woman was...
'How- how could you l-l-leave me...' she whispered as her inner sorrow escaped and left her heart in pain. She cradled the body in her arms, bathing in the blood oozing from the wound in the middle of her stomach. The air turned black all around her. The vision of a blood-coating blade next to the deceased figure cradled in her arms interrupted her sight. Her eyes pricked with tears and threatened to fall and cause a commotion with her brain. Her body trembled as beads of perspiration glistened her forehead, tears choking her throat. She lay there, as lifeless as any cadaver and just as pallid. Her pulse was absent. The sky was painted in the colour of nuclear winter. Because of the hectic weather and rain, branches from taller trees broke of like a torn ligament from a shoulder creating a distinct cracking sound.
'N-no... no-NO!' she frantically tried to stop the blood gushing out of the wound with her hands. It was no use. She was gone. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and remorse, tears spilling down her face like a river escaping a dam. She looked down at her hands, scarlet and sticky. The violent red stained her shaking hands.
She collapsed on her knees and cried her heart out. She was gone. Gone from her life. She would never come back. Despite the hatred she had towards her.
