J E Z E B E T H
I was born from the first words cry of sadness, cloaked with gold trim like all my others. They were graceful, shrouded in different rays of light before out mother Gaia. I was not. I emerged in a thick ray of darkness. My bright green eyes lifted up to behold my mother. Her smile was soft, her hair a tangle of forests, her eyes blind but inside were colors of light in different hues that took me in. My horns grew out of my head, twisting and twirling, begging to be as big as my powers. She looked at us in turn and in a motherly voice gave us each our title. Gaia first picked up two girls and a boy, all in flames; they cooled down in her hands and she blew away their thickened flames. "My children of the hearth", she pointed to them in sequence, "Hestia, my child of the warmth. You shall keep my creations warm and bright". She pointed to the next, "Hermi, my child that tho shine bright. You shall be the sun that shall count the days and lifetime". Finally, she reached the third fire child, "Ardor, my child of love. You shall keep the flame of all love burning as you do mine". The children were then clothed in their robes and vanished to their land. Gaia called forth the next set of children, who were swimming in the ocean bay. "Nepti, my child of space. You shall control the moon that shall count the nights and lifetimes". She went to the next, "Aquaria, my child of water. You shall control every drop of water that pours across my land and body". She then turned to the last child who was touching the water, turning it to ice. "My dear Jade", she murmured, "You shall control the winters that shall bring another page of life". Again the three vanished to their land once again, clothed and prepared. She then turned to us, the remaining children, and said, "I have given you five the most important and burden job". Her eyes filled with tears and my eyes and heart bled. "Nevermore and Grenith", two children, boys, encased in vines stood before their mother, "You shall watch over my land as I shall rest. I gift thee the Peridot Cores". She turned to a boy and a girl invaded in light. "Capital", the boy stepped forward and looked into my eyes, I turned away flushed. "You shall be the warmth of summer that flourishes in the world". She then turned to the girl, "Cierra, You shall be the goddess of spring. Make everything on my earth bloom after summer and die before winter". Then they were gone. Gaia, my mother, turned to me with a sweet smile. She stretched her arms open and grabbed me into a hug. "Jezebeth", she called, "I have the most important job for you". Her eyes looked sad as she took my small hand into hers, "You shall be my child of darkness. You shall feel all the pain in the world and bare it, however, you shall also feel all the joy". My toes curled up and my black hair grew. My body was clothed in gold and black dress, a crown of gold roses of my head. Gaia gave me one last hug before my body succumbs to the light.

I did my job for years, never leaving my homeland. The years came and went with me feeling humanity's triumph and its agony. Then one day, he came. A man so beautiful humans named him apollo and eros, but his real name was Capital. His hair was a pale blonde, flowing down his back; his eyes were grey and his smile brightened my day. "Capital!", I hugged him tightly, feeling something I've haven't felt in a while: warmth. "I am so glad you came. These days are so lonely without someone to talk to". His hands cup my face, "Then why don't you go up there"; he points to the sky. "I fear the emotions there are too strong for my body to take it", I look into his eyes. "Fine. I'll come", I sigh in defeat. Capital takes my hand and leads me up the stone stairwell up into the human world. The air is clear, the wind is fresh, and everything is so much brighter than I ever thought. I breathe it in, letting it flow through me. Then it hits me like a hammer, the anger, the hate, the sadness, the fury, the cries and pleas for help. I collapse onto the dirt, breathing heavily. I look up into Capital's face, "What happened?". He looks away, "Some of the others have thought to look away from the humans and let the power of worship come without need". I gasp, how could they! Mother said not to use her creations like that! I glance at Capital, "Did you...are you...too?". I feel guilt radiating off him. I shove him off and glare. "You have all disappointed me and Mother Gaia".

Then hundreds of years later, another visitor came to me. A witch named Dahila. "What have you come here for?" I asked, my hands kneading my heartstrings gently. She places a sack at my feet. "What is that for-".
"I have come a long way", she cuts me off, "I have seen the gods and what they have done to man. And now I have seen you", she chocks and sobs and my heartstrings tighten, "Oh! How you care for us. Oh, how you are there even at our worse". I open the page to find the Cores. "Gaia has sent me to give you these. You must use them to lock your siblings' powers away and cure the darkness they have caused". I only stared at her speechless. Then I nodded. If that was what Gaia wanted, then that is what I shall do".
