•.•.•.•.•"UH, Elena? Hi-" "Honestly, how could you fall for that? Would you not put two and two together and realize that Elena isn't a vampire, therefore how's she gonna throw you off? God, it's getting too easy."
Grace glanced down at the body in which she had just mutilated. She had bigger problems to worry about than Katherine pretending to be Elena. Her losing control was worse.
Although it made her feel selfish, Grace knew that if she turned into a Ripper again, it would be much worse than anything Katherine could or would do.
However, Katherine seemed to be done fooling around. Without any warning or hesitation, she flashed over and grabbed Grace by the neck, slamming her into a tree.
Grace was taken by surprise, but she was filled with energy.
"This ends here, Grace. I'm not letting you get in the way anymore. Not to mention, I'll be doing a favor to everyone else around here. This poor girl, the townsfolk, Caroline, Damon, Klaus. It should be such a relief to them when they realize that the source of all their problems is abolished."
Katherine was trying her hardest to get a rise out of Grace. She was not actually going to kill her, she did not have the guts-
Grace gasped, feeling the unbearable pain of a thousand nails clawing into her chest. She could feel Katherine's hand closing around her heart, and panicked. However, Katherine made her first mistake there. Hesitation.
So Grace took an advantage with that and with all her might, brought her hands up to Katherine's head, grasping either side. Katherine's eyes rolled back, and she fell limply. Her grip loosened around Grace's heart, who took deep breaths before removing Katherine's hand.
It hurt like hell, but she was not dead.
Katherine was already getting back on her feet. The spell was not meant to last long, as Grace did agree with one thing Katherine said.
It was time to end this.
Grace went forward and slammed Katherine into the ground, then threw one punch after another at her face. Blood poured out of her nose and mouth, and Katherine could not fight under Grace's strength, fueled by pure, raw anger. Grace saw nothing but red, and she was here to kill.
Katherine had ruined her whole life. Starting some three hundred years ago, Grace made the stupidest mistake of trusting her. And of course, she knew Katherine's story. She had her own child taken away from her at birth, disowned by her family. But she was insane. Katherine had been running for years, dragging someone else along who had made one dumb decision. She took advantage of that. Manipulating Grace was the thing she was best at. And Grace never saw through her act, not until two hundred years later. Even after being released from Klaus' compulsion, she still despised her.
And now, Katherine Pierce would have hell to pay.
Grace pounded her fists, letting out a raging sob as she beat Katherine to a pulp. She hated her. Words could not describe how much she despised her.
"You've been running for so long, and look where it got you. What did you expect to happen, Katherine? No one would come for you after 'surviving' for five hundred years. No. You chose to mess with me one too many times. I'll see you in hell."
Grace plunged her hand into Katherine's chest, closing around her heart.
But as she was snatching it out of her, Grace was pushed away, flying a few feet before she landed with a thud on the ground.
She was dazed for a moment, but was on her feet in no time. And she was shocked at the people who had come to stop her.
"Stefan? Damon? I- what the hell!"
Damon approached her, almost with some caution.
"Grace, you need to find your calm. You can't kill Katherine, yet."
She was furious. How dare they try to intervene? And to save Katherine's life? Pathetic.
"I'M NOT CALM! For two hundred years, this is all I've wanted. This is what will bring me peace, and I can finally move on! Don't you see? She's ruined my damn life!"
Stefan held a barely conscious Katherine in his arms, and replied, "She's ruined all of our lives, Grace. And believe me, if I could kill her, I would. But she's important right now. Unfortunately."
In disbelief, Grace looked to Damon for some help. He looked torn. He knew how badly Grace was seeking revenge, because he wanted the very same thing. But Katherine was important if they wanted to be rid of Klaus. However, Grace did not need to know that. That would make her want Katherine dead even more.
Just then, in Grace's pocket, her phone went off. She pulled it out, seeing that it was a missed call from Nik.
She thought for a moment, deciding if she should just let them go. There would be another chance to get Katherine, and Niklaus would make sure of it. Grace would make sure of it.
"Whatever your excuse is, it's pathetic," Grace spat at the two Salvatore brothers, before disappearing into the quickly fading light.
She arrived at the Mikaelson mansion, filled with many emotions she wished to express with a punching bag.
Grace stormed inside, ready to find Nik and tell him what she thought was being plotted.
It was not until she went upstairs that she found him, in his drawing room which was surrounded by paintings.
Nik could automatically tell that Grace was pissed. He set down his paintbrush, not having to wait long for an explanation.
"I killed someone, Nik. And I nearly killed someone else. Katherine. I had my hand closed around her heart, ready to rip it out of her chest cavity, and you'll never guess who had the audacity to stop me. The freaking Salvatores. They're obsessed with her. And they're planning something. Whatever it is, they need Katherine for it. I'm so angry right now I just want to-" "Grace," Nik said calmly, approaching the girl ever so nonchalantly.
Grace gave a sarcastic smile, crossing her arms.
"Sorry, I'll pretend like I'm fine so we can get on with your plan-" she was interrupted abruptly, by Nik's lips meeting her own.
She was so taken aback for a moment that she kissed him back instinctively, until he pulled away with a small smirk.
Grace met his eyes, and she could see nothing but good intentions.
Slowly, she brought her hands up to his face, holding them on either side.
"Kiss me again," she whispered, and Nik obliged, pulling her in by the waist and pushing her against the table.
He picked her up and sat her down, kissing down her neck with passion. It was not so hungry, like it was with Damon, but more calming.
Nik knew how to calm her down.
He pulled away once more, meeting her eyes.
"How's that for you, my dearest love?"
Grace smiled all at once, throwing her hands around his neck.
"Let's do it again."
Niklaus grinned, shutting the door.
