Chapter 2
Liam POV:
"James! Dinner!" I called from the kitchen as I set the table. Niall came into the room and hugged me from behind, his strong arms wrapping around me. I sighed contently as he rocked back and forth.
"That was weird today," He murmured to me.
"Do you think it was her?" I whispered, turning to face him. I wasn't sure why I was bloody whispering, I mean, James knew about our past. But it felt like something I should whisper.
"It had to be!" he whispered back. "Did you see her eyes? That has to be Eleanor's daughter. And the younger one looks just like Louis!"
"But...Louis has been living in Doncaster!" I replied. I could hear James shuffling around upstairs in his bedroom.
"We don't know that for sure! We know that after the band broke up, he went there with Eleanor to get married. We have no idea if he stayed or not!" Niall said in a hushed tone.
"The last time I saw Rivera, she was a tot, two years old." I said. "And that was only for a few minutes! And besides, Louis and El both have dark hair. This Rivera, the one who knocked on our door, was blond."
"How many girls do you know named Rivera with Eleanor Calder's eyes?" Niall asked flatly. I was about to give a very well crafted and sarcastic reply when James came into the kitchen.
"Hey dad, dad." he greeted both of us. I watched my 22 year old son sit down at the table and dig in to the chicken I'd prepared.
"Hey James," I replied, sitting down at the head of the table. Niall sat down too and poured us each a glass of wine, even though James rarely drank it. He usually had apple juice.
"So how's the studying going, J?" Niall asked.
"Okay, I guess. I don't know anything about political science. Why am I forced to take it, again?" he asked. I laughed.
"Because you want to major in music and you need an under grad degree." I replied. He rolled his eyes.
"I'm gonna go out tonight, I need to get laid." James said, scarfing down his chicken.
Niall spit out his wine, laughing.
"You will not get laid until you finish studying! You have midterms in two days!" Niall said. I chuckled.
"No fair! I'm not a kid anymore!" he said. He turned to me. "Daddyyyy, please tell dad that I need to get laid in order for my brain to function to study!" He begged, whining. I laughed, as did Niall.
"You need to first, study. And second, find a girl willing. Let's face it Jamie, you really better study. Besides, your right hand and the proper magazine can take care of any needs you have." I told my son.
"You'd think having two dads would help in the whole I-need-to-get-laid department, but I think it just makes it worse." He shook his head, smirking.
"At least you don't have a mum to embarrass you." Niall said.
"You're right; I have Aunt Danielle, whose just as bad!" James said.
"Shut up and eat your peas." I said, pointing to my son's plate with my fork. He made a big show of eating the veggies.
"Happy dads?" he asked us, once his plate was cleared.
"I swear, you're such a kid." I laughed.
"Live While We're Young!" He yelled as he walked up the stairs. Then he started singing. "Forever young, I wanna be, forever young!"
"Oh god," I laughed and rolled my eyes. Niall smirked.
