Prologue - The scent.

Kevin's POV

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALPHA!!!" My pack screams joyfully making me chuckle regardless of how I should be as suprised faced as possible.

I already knew of the party but I had to act like I didn't so I hoped I pulled the surprise face better since I sucked at faking.

Ballons started pouring down after the birthday declaration so they fell all over the place along with some pointless party strings. Smiles hovering everyone's face and my parents stood with pride a few feet away from me.

I approached them slowly as my dad puffed his chest out in pride with his dominant aura flowing around him. When I got to them he patted my shoulders in affection then I hugged my mother who looked beautiful in her floral blue dress.

"Am so proud." She whispered in my ear and I silently nodded before pulling away from my mother to glance at the crowd behind me that cheered.

Then after a few minutes it became so silent you could hear a pin drop and I know it's time for me to find the mystery  HER. The one who would be my Luna during thick and thin.

I was actually nervous about this but the better word to describe it would be anger because I didn't get to choose who I loved. There was someone called the moon goddess and she decided to plan my life, she has already picked for me who i should love without my permission and it angered me.

It was like my life was already planned for me without me agreeing or disagreeing. I was already going to be an Alpha which meant I couldn't be a normal teenager.

-Stop complaining,- my wolf...Tripp says softly -We already talked about this. Let's just look for our mate. We will be happier.-

I sighed before closing my eyes and letting myself catch my breath for a minute. Then I opened my eyes slowly scanning the place.

Some females already had their eyes so wide open I thought they would pop out, I took my time looking around including  the males but I had to make sure my parents didn't see me check out the males.

You could never plan who you are truly mated to just like you CAN'T choose your own destiny.

I was about to sigh in defeat but I caught long black hair at the very back of the crowd, i couldn't tell if the person was male or female since they had their back turned away from my gaze and immediately I felt my body shiver. The person looked over their shoulders as their hair hid most of their faces and I caught a glimpse of blue eyes that caused me to swallow nervously of how beautiful they were.

-Ayeeee, Mate!!!- Tripp said joyfully         -Such a babe-

I rolled my eyes before going to the person as my pack members clapped their hands and opened a path, i could even hear my parents laugh joyfully since is rare for someone to find their mates but my mate shocked me by turning and running away.

I didn't even catch a clear look at their face.

''HEY!" I couldn't help but yell in shock as I ran in their direction but they were faster. Why were they running? Surely they could feel the bond "Wait!!"

"Quickly!" My dad shouted "catch her, The girl with the black hair"

Immediately my pack members started chattering before running behind me to help me catch my mate.

And the chase begin.
